I hate kids, especially when they whine for NO reason. But I also dont think that he should slap the kid or call him THAT. kids cry, thats their prerogative.

well the child was crying for a reason. they were in decent on a flight. that hurts and a baby does not know how to relieve it. A baby has no real way to tell you what is wrong.

No wonder you hate children you do not understand them.

We're talking about a two year old here. What the hell does one expect from a two year old? It'd be a much different situation if it was a 4/5 year old screaming their head off (though still not acceptable for a stranger to hit said child).

People that say that have never had their own children, obviously. Go try reasoning with a 2 year old, lol....

Guy in the article is a major d-bag.

umm myself and my other family members were never like this, enjoy your food stamps.

no shit, I just spent about $10k on dating the last month. :)

That'd be impressive, except nobody cares, and you've got problems if it costs you that much to keep women around you. (assuming that you're still dating womenz)

congratulations, you got the point. there's no reasoning with two year olds, and sometimes they're gonna cry it out.

And more bad parenting......

Well when I was a kid I knew if I acted like that in public I would get it when we got back home or to the car.

They were on an airplane. And you didn't know that when you were two.

and more ignorance.

I'm not even a parent, but come on, anyone who thinks they can 'control' a 2 year old is out of their mind.

Obviously the parents don't beat their kids enough when they get back to the car...

edit: I'm just gonna add a little to this. I have two boys, 6 and 2. Very different kids. My 6 year is explosive, aggressive, focused, and very hard to redirect. He was a much more difficult 2 year old. My current 2 year old is much more easy going, focused in a different way, and easier to redirect.

My point is that kids vary just as much as parenting styles. IMO, Good parents are the ones who can deal with different kids in an effective way for that child.

Oh I know, kids just aren't understood right? The old tried and true method of discipline is so out dated. It’s not like kids without values walk into schools and blow away 6 year olds.

Who said anything about no discipline? Discipline is a subjective word. People do it differently, and not every kid responds the same to the same discipline.

Obviously you would've showed that 2 year old who's boss on the airplane. Cry on my watch, will ya!

lol.

many are forgetting (or don't understand). This happened on the DECENT of the plane ride. where the pressure changes. It hurts. a 18 month old really does not know how to handle it. Sure you can try to sooth them but that does not always work.

This happened AFTER the guy gave them shit from the start. from http://www.ibtimes.com/joe-rickey-hundley-man-who-allegedly-slapped-toddler-flight-loses-job-agc-aerospace-defense-photo

She said the Idaho man at one point started “turning my light back on after I would turn it off and constantly saying things to the staff in regards to my son, and so I took us out of the situation, and we stood back by the bathrooms,” Bennett told the network.

So they stood in the back the whole plane ride. come back for decent where the baby whines and he loses it and slaps the kid..

Didn't the kid have eye pain from the cabin pressure?

yeah. the kid was fine the whole flight. in fact the mother took him to the back to get away from the man. Only time they got back in there seat was for the decent. At that point the kid experienced pain from the pressure change.

those saying they can control the child even in such are full of shit or never had kids. Its very hard to reason with a 18 month old. you can try to calm them down but with pain it don't always work. Also the child was not screaming it was whimpering.

Talking from your wallet bro, there was travel involved ;)

again nobody fucking cares. stick to the topic.

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old, the only thing that helps on a decent is if I give them a lollipop or something (even a pacifier if their young enough). Swallowing helps pop the ears, but it's not 100% effective.

If anyone would touch my child, they would get a beating (Probably me and the Wife)
