If you shoot someone you are liable to be arrested. They will need to get the details and ascertain that you actually did act in self defense.

This. Arrested? yeah, I can see that.

Prosecuted no so much... If the guy really did pull a knife and there's evidence to confirm it, it's hard to see the case being prosecuted, much less a conviction.

You should go out and kill his family and friends now - they might come after you. So, you need to play it safe.

Also, yes. You do need to warn him. Otherwise, it could be viewed as you trolling to shoot and kill someone. Did you start the arguement? Did you do everything to avoid the fight? Or, did you willingly egg him on to the point where you were waiting to strike?

Also, this is indeed hypothetical. Some of you are such losers. Hoping and thinking up all sorts of situations where you can harm or hurt someone else. Get a fucking life.

so when you practice fire drills, you're actually hoping for a fire? you fucking pyromaniac!

I took the OP to be his commentary on some obscure law in VA. Not an actual event that he experienced. But what do I know, it's the 1st.

You wanted a different outcome? (dead OP)

Note: I believe this scenario is hypothetical.

As long as both are willing to kill the other, neither deaths are justified. The very fact that someone carries a weapon makes it unjustified, they woke up with every intention of killing someone, given the opportunity.

That makes no sense. You wake up with a brain every morning but you never use it.
