Guy on my floor in dorm committed suicide lastnight

Wasn't really close to him, but I would see him everyday when I went to take a shower. My friends who smoked cigarettes with him said that he would always joke around and never talked about dieing(sp?)

He did seem a little depressed though, and just got notice that he would have to go to a lot of counseling classes for alcohol related incidents. He recently did start taking coke (only a few times tho), but I don't know if either of these factors contributed to him killing himself.

He was going to counseling for depression and his counselers did not believe he was at any risk of killing himself....

edit: He was on the opposite side of the floor as me

All I can say is that...he must have been quite depressed because killing oneself must not be an easy thing to do.

But that is assumed I guess.

That sucks. Something similar happened to someone who lived on my floor in college too a few yrs ago. It's weird even if you never knew them.

This is gonna sound lame, but its always sad when a young person feels like they have nothing to live for.

Youngest I ever heard about was a girl I knew. She did it with sleeping pills in the 7th grade.

It's "natural" I think, not the execution of it part. I have thought about suicide sometimes. All people think about at least the possibility of it once in their lives.

I can only hope that he was either high or extremely drunk so he didnt suffer....

Tie yourself up on a chair and jump off.

EDIT: If the chair is not sufficiently tall, it's not a very pleasant manner of death.
