Guy on Ebay kinda screwed me

Kind of a complicated story, but basically i bought a monitor off ebay from this guy. Before i bought it i sent him a question through ebay asking if it was refurbished or not, he said it wasn't. Anyways, 3 weeks later, he ships it, and i get it about a week later. First thing i noticed is that it says "Remanufactured" on the tag, and i verify it's a refurbished monitor. There are display problems including some not-so visible vertical lines on the left side, and bad ghosting problems. The guy isn't going to offer me any refund unless i return the monitor, which is about $80 to ship, and a big hassle. Paypal won't do anything about this, anyone got any other ideas?

Did you pay with Credit Card?

If so, do a chargeback.

EDIT: Also, tell the seller it was his responsibility to tell you the truth. Had he told you the truth and you were unsatisfied with the product, you would've gladly paid shipping back. However, the seller blatantly lied to you, so either he pays for the shipping, picks it up, or it gets thrown out.

I doubt it's $80 to ship.

I shipped a 19" Samsung CRT for like $20 FedEx ground. See if he is willing to pay for return shipping or at the very least...split it half way since he lied to you.

I think that'd only lead to more problems...he probably wouldn't let me keep the monitor and the cash, don't think he'd let that go. Good last option though i suppose...

The reason it irks me is because i never would of bought it in the first place had i known it was refurbished.
