Guy makes $600K in one month for iPhone App

wow, that looks alot like this game i used to play....

where you had two tanks facing off, you'd have different weapons, set the trajectory / power.

hey... those of you with iphone... does the iphone really have that fast of a response time like in the commercial?

my win mobile on htc diamond is hella slow.....

He just shat all over my years of working with a shitty rendition of tank, not even a unique concept. Ouch.

But good for him though.

The quickly growing popularity of iPhone apps is sort of scary when you read where one guy spent $800 on iMob points.

My iPhone is zippy compared to my old WinMo and Palm stuff.

And @ the haters who say he ripped off Scorched Earth - where are you when people are ripping off the concepts of Wolf3D and Doom? Joust? etc. etc.

Indeed, Scorched Earth came many years after the first artillery type game.

Obviously depends on where you are, but the Internet is not as fast as the commercials would make it seem. It will connect to open wireless routers, so that helps if you're at home or in a store that has free wifi.

programmer friend of mine made a quick app...he's getting 20-30 people to buy it a day...very easy money, when he's selling at 3$.

speedtest.net now has an iPhone app, ive seen some pretty good scores on it (not mine)

My Mom has an iPhone 3G and my brother has an original iPhone. Wouldn't trade my Sprint Touch Pro. + SERO plan for an iPhone.

Wish I had some programming skills though.

doesn't surprise me, when apps are cheap on iTunes people eat them up. I can't count the number of reviews I've read while looking for a certain kind of app where the person said "I've tried most on here that do this, and this is honestly the best!" One exact example was for an app to keep track of your daily work out. The guy basically paid for 4 different apps till he found this one. they were all $5 bucks. And didn't the dude who made iBeer make like a crapload of cash too?

I need a mac + some programming skills lol. I'll be honest I've bought maybe 7-8 apps, some that are pretty useless like iCoinFlip & iDayDream. In contrast I bought one WinMO app for my Moto Q the entire 1 1/2 years I had it. I just dropped $20 on Beatmaker, my Touch is getting to be an expensive toy
