Guy drives 1200 miles in a car, then pulls off a 6.95 quarter

That car sounds like MURDER, the actual act of slaughtering people. I almost want to cry. I feel violated. But in a good way.

I dont quite get that...? 1200 miles with the type of running gear those cars use...? Uh the gear set in the rear end is mighty soft to absorb the shock from the neck yanking launches so they dont last long on the street... If you use a street gear guess what...? They shatter (been there done that)... Also wonder how the Lenco trans did with highway miles and heat...? Also wonder about the slicks...? DOT stuff...? Reg stickies dont or should say wont last long on the street...

Badass car for sure if its true prostreet then its damn fast...

Must be torture to drive for 1200 miles.

Loud
Hot
No A/C
No Cat
No handling
Rough ride
Lousy gallon per mile

And most importantly, you're stuck doing 65-75mph!!

I love Larry's car. I've been watching it for the last couple years when he brings it out for Hot Rod's Drag Week. Looks much better blue than it did pink. Insane that you can drive 1200 miles and click off a six-second pass.

There was a guy last year in a late 90's Mustang with Duramax under the hood. Drove the whole 1500 miles or so, ran 9's in the quarter, and still got 30+mpg.

Where on earth is that car street legal? The Ukraine? There is absolutely no way that car would pass the state inspection in this state.

Anyone watch the videos in the comments? One of them has an in-car view at the drag strip where the other car gets a jump on him, and then two seconds later he passes it like it was standing still.

That Nova was pre-emissions. So it's probably easy to pass inspection.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. A 1966 model car probably has nothing to do to pass an inspection outside of lights working, horn working, and in the video of him cruising Vegas, it's obvious he's got the exhaust all buttoned up with mufflers of some sort.

Don't know your own state's laws, do you?

From NCDOT's web page on vehicle inspections:

Vehicles 35 years old, or older, are exempt from the North Carolina vehicle safety inspection.

Seems that car would have been exempt from ANY inspections in your state since 2001. And that's why old cars are built up like that for street use/race use.....they're typically exempt from any sort of inspections.
