The sad thing is the performance gain will be marginal at best, and definitely not $800 worth of performance over a pair of 256MB GTX's.![]()

Yeah with the $40,000 a year you will make during your residency?
He was probably thinking more of the $200,000 he'll make a few years later.![]()
Ya I was thinking about residency too. Once you get out of med school, you make very little during residence, then you still gotta pay the loans. It will be 10 years before you'll be able to afford a 1500 dollar video card setup without skipping meals dude.
That's right. It is a commitment that extends well beyond 4 years.
Depends on who you know. Networking is a major facet of medicine just like any other business. Once I finish residency, I'll have a partnership waiting for me in a practice that's owned by my father in law.

I always sell off my hardware when new hardware comes out, its like leasing a car, Every 2 years my buddy upgrades he spends around $2000, in that same time i can keep upgrading and always have the newest toyz, e.g. Video Cards, and ill spend around the same after selling off the old crap. So it comes down to if you have the extra cash and its your hobby i see no problem with it. Im 31 years old and when i started gaming on a Atari 2600 i would tell my mom that when i grew up i would get a great job and play lots of video games, well thats kind of how it all worked out lol.
