Gutting a huge wild boar in your front yard is fine...

If your home isn't in a very nice neighborhood.

I went walking with my sister yesterday around their neighborhood. It's a very nice place. Everyone's yard is kept trimmed and cleaned, nice cars, etc..etc..
But then we walk by this one house and about 10 feet from the curb some guy has an enormous wild boar strung up upside down between two trees, skin hanging loosely from it's dead body.
And he was gutting it for all the world to see. PLOP. I wonder which organ that was.
It was disturbing.
We hurried past without a word.

Sometimes, the lower-class folk make enough money to move up in the world.

But remember: You can take the trash out of the trailer park, but you can never take the trailer park out of the trash.

Not to imply that all hunters are trash; hunting is good, solid American sport and fine way to get a pig for a roast. But common sense (something most trailer trash is missing) should tell you that you don't gut the pig in your front yard in a nice, spiffy neighborhood.

Killing for sport is disgusting, but I am guessing he was going to eat it. So it's okay I suppose.

But I was just told you should always skin and gut a pig right after you kill it. Not load it up, drive it home, and tie it between two trees in your front yard and then do it.

I was going to ask that as well. I also field dress in the woods and then drag it out, it's better for the meat. He may have been butchering it himself which would explain why it was at his house but don't do it in the front yard.

Would you do that? In a nice neighborhood?
I never said it was a problem. It's just disgusting. It's like having sex in the front yard. You do have a bedroom you know...lol.

Get over it.

If it is his property - he should be able to do whatever he damn well wants to, including dressing his game.

Yes. But it's still abnormal as this is a very nice part of town.

Happens around here too. We had a huge hog tearing up yards here, it was taken down and the guy took it home. He dressed it in the back yard tho. I'm in San Antonio, in a nice neighborhood too.

I agree.
I guess common courtesy is lost to some people.

Well at least he has the courtesy not to string it up so everyone who could see would see.

Zysoclaplem, you seem to have this mindset that you should be able to go anywhere in the country and not get offended by anything. Get over yourself and grow a pair.

So you suggest he should gut the hog in his bedroom ;-)

But come on, it's only a hog being gutted. Blood, death and slaughter is a part of life.

around here, deer hunters (no wild boar here ) come from all levels of society and so i wouldn't be surprised to see a deer hanging on anyone's property, rich or poor
