What makes this hilarious is DEFEAT just a few seconds later.

If you ask me, the battles that will have "canon" references should stay as so. Rebels should NEVER win Hoth. BUT, that don't mean there can be a hidden bonus to the defeat, or remove the win bonus from imperials.

StromTroopers should also have 10hp max. And team balancing should be 1 rebel vs 10 imperials.

I'm not sure if you're trolling, but that's the way that dates are written in the US (MM/DD/YY). So, 13/10/15, or today.

It infuriates me! MM/DD/YY is illogical and misleading. Here in EU we use DD/MM/YY or sometimes YY/MM/DD. From shortest to longest unit (or the other way around). It is polite to use 4 symbols for years...
Logical order that is clear and easy to understand and should be used worldwide!

Did you guys ever see a Rebel play pilot and take down an AT-AT instantly?

Seriously once people realize that and get good at it, it will be impossible for Imperials to win the assault.

I found the airspeeder to be really hard to drive with keyboard and mouse. The vehicle sensitivity varies wildly between vehicles which makes it pretty hard. I didnt get a lot of time in the speeders to be fair so maybe im just bad

the game performs decently on old/lower end hardware

the 6970 probably had the same problem I encountered with my 5850, only runs in windowed mode, and have some visual problems in some effects, but it's playable overall

console game design by No dice.
expected to run like crap on a PC with mechanics and controls

Use the keyboard arrows to turn in air vehicles - the mouse sensitivity is best used for minor adjustments like aiming. Also use keyboard up and down for the AT-AT towing segement - the mouse is impossible.

ComputerBase.de - Erste Benchmarks der Open‑Beta

Nice, multiplayer benchmarks. For 1080, Tahiti/Tonga and upper-mid-range Kepler seems well met, which is impressive since 7970 is 2 months away from its 4 year anniversary. 7950 OC's like a beast and will easily hit the 60+FPS the 280X has - the rare 7870XT might pass the 60fps barrier with an OC too. And if the 770 is there then surely the 670 will make it and possibly a max OC 760 as well.

CPU scaling is still unusual for AMD here. Only at 4.4GHz does a Fury X beat a 980 Ti. 18% improvement from a 900MHz CPU overclock is not a good sign.

Hmm just like in the movies? Keyword = controller. That's the crux of the problem, they want you to do what? Play the FPS portion of the game with KB/Mouse then whip out the controller for vehicles?

I figured Fury X was cpu limited looking at that chart. Why else would it have a huge gain compared to the 980ti?

The final game will get DX-12 (I dont know if on release date or not) so CPU performance will not be the problem.

They might yet decide to go Vulkan instead (since Vulkan = Mantle 2.0 and they already have a Mantle back end), or do nothing since it runs great in DX11. I wouldn't call DX12 a sure thing just yet.

Well, it is a reskinned 2013 game. So it should run well on older hardware.

OK here is a CPU scaling using the Core i7 3770K at 3.55GHz turbo off.

Procedure

HOTH Map 40 players, always on the Imperial side to have consistency as possible. Benchmark was measured using the in-game command "perfoverlay.framefilelogenable".
The Benchmark was started a few minutes after the beginning of each game session but always on the first part of the map.

System hardware

CPU : Intel Core i7 3770K
clocked to 3.55GHz, Turbo off. For the Core i3 (2C 4T) and Core i5(4C 4T) simulation, CPU cores and HT were turned off from the BIOS.

Memory 2x 4GB Kingston LoVo 1600MHz at 9-9-9
HDD : OCZ Vertex 4 256GB
GPU : HD7950 1GHz, 1500MHz memory, +20% Power Limit.

Windows 8.1 64bit
Catalyst 15.9.1Beta

Game Settings.

High preset
Motion Blur off
FOV at 90

No it is not a reskinned Battlefield game ...

The game features new technologies not found in older games like physically based rendering and volumetric lighting ...

What did you expect? Shintai is just downplaying it because he don't like the numbers red team is getting and it's going to get worse when the DX12 numbers will be in.

He talks down anything that isn't made by Intel, especially if it's in favor of AMD (or Qualcomm). On top of that, he states every single one of his thoughts and opinions as facts. You don't really need to worry about his negative comments unless he has an actual point behind them.

Yeah the lighting, detailed textures, coupled with high frame rate makes for a really nice graphical experience (especially at higher res like 1440p).

Release unoptimized turd that looks crap for the performance, get praise from review sites for destroying GPUs and included in benchmarks "just because it's demanding".

Release a highly optimized game that looks great and performs great... people accuse it of not pushing the tech enough. Alien Isolation anyone? That's one great look game that runs into 3 digit FPS on modest hardware, whereas the original Metro still runs like donkey these days.

Can't win.
