Na I'm just kidding (sort of). I'll love my cards long time. Hell, its already been half a year. A long time comes quick these days.

I know - I detected the appropriate level of sarcasm and got the point 😎

I'll continue to love mine, then GP100 will come out and Ill get a couple of those and retire the GM200's and then the cycle will repeat again and again. It's the circle of life.

Well, it would sort of line up.

The Rift : End of march
The GFX card you really need to run the Rift : April.

The part I am looking forward to about GP100's release even in Titan form is the subsequent drop in 980 Ti used price and increase in availability. I'd definitely swap out my 290s for 980 Tis at a nice enough used price, even when 14nm is out

Titan X only out 10 months? og Titan was out 23 months before Titan X arrived. It's too soon for next Titan. I don't think next Titan will sell well.

Theres been Titan every 12 months since the original in february. you are forgetting Titan Black and Titan Z

Roadmap = some random Japanese guys speculation filled with question marks. I doubt we'll see the next gen called GTX 1080. The marketing people wouldn't want to associate with 1080p.

Titan Black was just a rehash/correction of Titan and 780Ti. At least that's how I view the product progression. Of course the past is no guarantee of the future anyway.

they release a Titan every year. you could guess after the original that they would release another one with all shaders active. With Titan X the first maxwell titan they gave us the fully enabled version right away. So if they keep doing a Titan every year the only play they have would be GP100 since they aren't going to release a worse Maxwell Titan then the one they already released.

The only other plausible config for new Titan that isnt GP100 would be a dual gpu GM200

Maybe GTX 1800 isn't so bad, gives them leeway to lever in a few more tiers like 1850 or something. 1080 though just doesn't sit too nicely for me.

I really suspect we're going to see a new naming scheme this round...I doubt 1080 sounds right to anyone. The running joke would be that the GTX1080 was only capable of 60FPS@1080 or something...

Give me this for 1000 EUROs as a 2016 replacement for Titan X and i wont care about Pascal anymore. For my purpose 6144 Maxwell´s cores > very likely the amount GP104 is going to have).

The 7970 released at over $500 and NV saw that their midrange card beat it so they charged less (but too much) than AMD for their faster card. Like I said, NV thanks AMD for their overpriced card so that they could overprice while still having a faster card.

Let's get Biblical and go Roman Numerals!!!

GTX X80/X70/X60
followed by
GTX XI80/XI70/XI60

etc etc etc...

However, I do like the X versus a full 10. ATI did and it felt right. Of course then they got crazy with the suffixes. Woof. Radeon X800 XT PE AIW FTW!!!!!!

April next year maybe. I'd bet money that we won't see big Pascal in anything other than the server space this year.

From the source techfrag article

the Titan grade products based on the GP100 are expected to be announced in April, with the downgrade version to debut in June 2017

That sort of implies an April 2017 launch, does it not?
