Hi,
What sort of performance gain should I expect when upgrading from my current R9 270X to a R9 390?
I don't plan to go above 1080p for my gaming needs.
JC3 is the game I am planning to upgrade for.
I have a feeling that 270X should suffice...(as I am keeping my expectations to about 30 fps with this card.)..but I just want some opinions that would help me in deciding if it's worthwhile.

I have a relative coming in the next week and the price differential between the cost in India and US is double. (US~ 320$, India~590$)
So I thought if it's really worthwhile spending around 320$ for the 390, I might as well ask him to get one for me.

Also do all these new cards support Win XP?...i.e are drivers available for XP?

Thanks.

There are some old games that don't work well with Win 7 so I have a partition with Win XP just for them.

Around 70% performance increase. If the CPU that you have is not a bottleneck.

I recently went from a highly overclocked HD 7850+i7 870 to R9 390+i5 6600K. The difference was night and day. I went from playing games like Crysis 3 and Witcher 3 at medium at 1680x1050 with the old setup to ultra with the new and with much better frames per second on top of that. Assuming your CPU can handle it, it will be a massive improvement.

Make sure you have a good enough power supply for that card!
