Don't let the ATF find you with that malfunctioning weapon, unless it is a registered machine gun and you paid the $200 for to have it transferred from your dad's ownership to yours. It could mean a nice stay at a PMITA federal prison if you are caught with an un-registered machinegun (even if it is a malfunction). It is sad, but there is a precedent for it.
Now thats interesting to know. I wonder where I can get parts. I don't know if I should trust a smith.
Depending on what parts are needed, a good smith can fabricate them. I have a single shot .22 rifle from 1916 or so that I need to take to a smith. Needs to be refinished, metal and furniture both, and it needs a new spring.
It's probably not a valuable piece, but it belonged to my grandfather, and I would like to have it spruced up for display, and take it out and fire it once in a while.
