Hogue Grip, and 6 position stock. Somehow the stock and the bayonet lug made it more dangerous during the Assault weapon ban. :roll:

And as far as a decent sub $500 gun, get an XD or Glock for a semi.

And lastly, its not a scout. Its a .22 with a $40 scope rofl. But yer right, I do plan my purchases based off of counterstrike.

Heh, I know. I just happened to read an article on Osama's weapon of choice last week. He has his AK74SU in all of his videos.

I've been thinking a lot about getting an XD45 - 13 rounds would be great for the competitive shooting I do right now. 10 round magazines in my 1911 just isn't enough.

I really need to shoot one first - my Dad has a SW99 in 45ACP and I'm a terrible shot with it. I don't know if it is too light compared to my 1911 or what.

I should just spend the extra $150 and get a new S-A Tactical Combat 1911 in black stainless. My Dad bought one of those last summer and it's AMAZING.

 
Awesome I was hoping they'd come out with a .45 ACP.

Now the question is do they have it in a subcompact...

Bah still no .45 subcompact. 🙁 Come on at least give us a 3" GAP.

Technologies are morally neutral you twit. How they are applied is much more important and I feel safer in Tallbill owning guns than you driving a car.

i shot a baby desert eagle in .40 and a smith & wesson (not sure what model) in .40. those were my 1st time using a handgun. the 1st handgun i bought for myself was a 9mm Taurus PT99. I like it. its a large frame gun and fits nicely in my hand. i got it for $330 brand new.

i'm going to check with my uncle and see what he has in small/compact handguns because i want to get one for when i'm out with my camera by myself. He buys guns in lots from pawn shops (he has an FFL). He also does gun repair and modifications so he can fix up any of the guns that may not be in the best shape and resell them.

I would recommend going to a local range that rents guns. You can rent and try many of the popular guns. Glock, SA XD, CZ, Taurus, S&W, etc etc, there are a ton out there.

I shot the HK USP, Glock , XD, CZ, and Taurus and Sig P228? (forget the number), before I decided on the CZ 75 for my first 9mm.

also I found a new-retro for like $290 shipped and a local transfer fee, so that sealed the deal. The two main types of guns are going to be polymer (light gun, more felt recoil) or steel/ (heavier gun, less recoil?)

Anyway, it is hard to go wrong, find what you like, find what fits your hands well. Make sure you can reach everything easily without having to move your hand around.

Get some tips/help from someone at the range if it is your first time shooting. A few pointers goes a LONg way 🙂
 
I second the fun factor of a red dot on a 22. How do you like your Neo? I almost got one, but damn that thing is too strange looking. I went with a buckmark. 🙂

You cant go wrong with a buckmark or a ruger mkII/III whatever, or a neos in my opinion..

As far as break down to clean, neos is so easy its not even funny

Accuracy, I have the DLX, 7.5" barrel and it is pinpoint. Im had a few issues with f2f but it kinda went away. It might look weird, but hold one and it feels great. It points really well, and its good for small to large hands in keeping control.

Yeah, I know. Still need a few more handguns too. And at least a shotgun or two. I want a 870 just for familiarization in case I end up working somewhere and use an 870, and I'd love a saiga just to have.
 
Nice firearm there!

I wish there wasn't so much red tape in my area for owning handguns... suburbs of NYC is VERY unfriendly to gun owners.

So I'll end up buying an AR-15 soon hopefully. I'm planning on ordering it from Impact Guns and they deliver to a dealer near me for pickup.
 
heh threads like this make me want to get a gun. that .22 DXDJ posted looks great! wish i could afford to purchase a nice plinker. Nothing more fun the killing some targets.
