Gun people

I want to know what I could expect to get from a gun shop for my guns:
Weatherby Vanguard 20-06 w/some sort of scope
Benelli Nova Shotgun

It would probably be better if I sold them on gun broker but I'm not sure exactly how shipping guns work plus the gun store is more convenient.

Shipping guns is incredibly easy. You can mail them yourself with USPS. You just have to send them to a FFL. That's the buyer's responsibility to arrange though, not yours.

You could at least use gunbroker as a tool to price what you have. Then take them to a local shop and see what the'll offer. If you feel that it's really low, then don't sell them at the shop. Doing this will actually do 2 things. First, it'll give you the opportunity to sell it quick. Second, they'll probably inspect the gun first and hopefully point out any flaws or pertinent information that you could use in a listing on gunbroker.

Neat thanks. Gunbroker wants me to use an ISP email address which I don't have, and you have to register to see completed listings. That is why I had trouble price checking. Do they not know that I can just find some obscure site that offers e-mail addresses and fool them?

You can also trying feeling around a gun related forum. They will have a lot of experts as well as a FS/T section, since AT doesn't allow firearm sales on here.

I don't want to but I haven't had a chance to use them in over 2 years (been out of the country or living somewhere I couldn't properly secure them) and I'm about to go out of the country indefinitely, at least a year and a half if not much longer, and I could really use the money.

gun dealer isn't going to give you much, usually. especially places like gander mountain.

check out gunsamerica too. my uncle uses that to sell his guns (he's an FFL holder though and sells and repair guns as his business).

If they're just for show just cap the ends and keep them. (not sure what the law is on that though, maybe it would still be illegal possession of firearm)

Find some way to sell them to an individual. You'll get more money that way.
