1. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

Unfortunately, some people dont understand the need for the peace of mind defensive arms and munition provide. They also dont understand the concept of choice, so they think they must choose for you to satisfy their own insecurities.

If Obama has his way, we will be a disarmed socialist peasantry where only the American drug cartels will be armed as they sell legalized weed. Kind of like Mexico, who also decriminalized possession but that hasnt stopped the criminal element from running parts of the country.

Only a well armed citizenry will deter crime.

Since "(1. ) An armed man is a citizen.", an armed citizen shot 28 or so people at a school yesterday. And most of them were children in elementary school.

Maybe a gun is safe in the hands of a sane person, the problem is, that same gun is deadly threat to everyone in the hands of a mentally unbalanced person.

Which is why we all should support the NRA because the NRA stands up for the rights of a mentally unbalanced person to acquire and carry firearms.

We need to change our culture, more or less guns will not help anyone or anything. We are fundamentally broken as a country, and it has nothing to do with guns.

Oh and FYI in 10 states guns ARE more dangerous than cars.

But violence in America is the problem, not guns.

and heart disease is the number one cause of death each year. should we outlaw fatty foods?

what about cancer? ban all hazardous chemicals?

A person eating fatty foods cannot impose their will on someone else as dramatically as a clinically insane person with a gun who looses it can

thanks for coming up with a worse analogy than the gun vs. car debate.

He wasn't in the NRA, I'll bet you a mass murder has never been done by someone in the NRA honestly.

a fatty can tip over and kill someone. a fatty tipping over on a bus driver can cause death to everyone on board. a fatty getting lodged in a plane propeller has the potential of bringing the plane down. your argument is fail.

But they perpetrate the idea that is okay to use a gun. They keep guns in the spotlight.

I will mention this simple fact again: a nutjob with a gun is deadlier than a nutjob without a gun.

Its true, but how do you fix a problem that is 0.5% of all crime without making citizens unarmed and the criminals armed for the other 99.5% of crimes.

Citizens have no need to be armed with mass killing machines.

Hell, I am against government intervention. I am against having an army. I don't think there is any need for that shit in this modern world.

You may argue that only 0.5% of the crimes are using 'legal' weapons, but the fact is that these companies are manufacturing guns because people are buying them LEGALLY. If you cut off their demand then they don't manufacture anymore.

Guns are also too cheap. Why don't they tax the shit out of them like cigarettes?

The fear is palpable. Obama is coming for your guns guys. What will you poor Americans do without your guns?

Look north of the border.

We're doing OK.

where do you guys get all this bullshit from? seriously? where? please show me. actually no, don't show me. I don't want to see the inside of your ass.

How many drunk drivers didn't kill anyone yesterday?

You are insinuating that lawful owners of firearms are all just as irresponsible as people who would drive drunk?

I don't know whether I should be insulted or sad.

So you're on board with reinstating prohibition?

Because alcohol serves an entirely recreational purpose in our society.

11,000 drunk driving fatalities could be eliminated every year if we banned alcohol. Coincidentally, that is the same number of firearms-related homicides we had in 2011 according to the CDC.

We let anyone 21 and over, with a few dollars in their pocket, buy alcohol. You could be a felon, mentally unstable, suicidal, etc. No background check needed to pick up fifth of vodka.

As a society, we decided that we wouldn't punish tens of millions of responsible alcohol consuming adults for the mistakes of a relative few criminals.
