Gumball 3000!

That would be so much fun. 🙁 Anyone got 60k pounds sterling laying around they want to toss my way?

I was actually going to do something somewhat similar (although not nearly as extravagant) a few years back...we had a forum for it and everything. it never got past the planning stages, unfortunately.

i only ask this because i am interested...yet too lazy to figure it out on my own:

how does one follow the gumball 3000? are there videos on the internet, or is it purely pictures and info type of stuff?

EDIT: after posting this i became unlazy and figured it out.

Yeah that thing is nasty. That was on the most recent episode of Top Gear, right?

Yeah, took the fastest lap time around their track too. I could only dream of owning such a thing.

Honestly, you know what really impressed me? The Ultima GTR time. Top Gear wouldn't review the car after numerous offers from Ultima, so they rented out the track by themselves. The video is almost a year old now:

That's almost Caparo speed.

An event involving a bunch of rich people with huge egos and expensive cars doesn't interest me all that much for some reason.

One was won by basically a redneck with a modified Avalanche. He took the frame off and put on a 2500 frame, ran a 502, but the keys to winning was the fact that he didn't get lost, didn't break down, and knew how to talk to the truckers. He actually made it by some cops by having truckers box him in so they couldn't see him. Obviously, they're looking for sports cars, and seeing the wheels of a truck wouldn't make them flinch.

Another year an H2 finished 6th and a Citroen 2CV 7th. Again, by not getting lost, breaking down, etc...

That said, the real Cannonball Runs and C&D's 1 lap of America were/are much more hardcore.
