gulf war syndrome

Anyone know anything about the supposedly non-existent "gulf war syndrome"? Think that we'll see more of this in our returning troops?

i knw chemo therapy makes u ultra tired...and gulfwar syndrome is supposedly similar....so...i donno...

I had an uncle die, of what I believe was, gulf war syndrome.

He died at 48 He had been in the gulf war... at one point he was in one of the divisions that was downwind of a factory that was destroyed.

After coming back from the war, over the years he become weaker and weaker, making several trips to doctors did nothing.

Eventually he was diagnosed with a couple extremely rare/unidentifiable forms of cancer instantaneously, basically none of them treatable.

His body eventually gave in and they weren't really able to explain how any of it happened; I personally am fairly sure of the truth....

Technically the journal articles say that Gulf war syndrome is casued by something called Organophosphate induced delayed Nueropathy. The actual mechanism behind it is under question (I'm doing a master seminar on it soon).

Somethings that fall in the organophosphate category.. chemical weapons and pesticides.

I was under the impression "gulf war syndrome" was nothing more than radiation poisoning from marching past burning/smoking wreckage done with fun weapons like depleted uranium shells and such.

It think it doesn't want to become popular knowledge because it was caused by (primarily) American weapons.

The US has detonated over 2000 nuclear bombs on US soil, radiation was not the primary factor for Gulf War vets, more likely chemical/bio....

Secret? Ummm no.....we've never made a secret of the fact that we use depleted uranium shells. Anyone that has ever read anything about the A-10 knows it uses depleted uranium rounds.
