Drudge is reporting this developing story. Believe it?

No.

I think I agree with you glenn1, untill I see conclusive proof.

if he's reporting thats its going to be in the washington times tommorow, yes I believe that is true. Whether the report is true or not, Im not sure. This could be the US propoganda machine beginning to turn in preparation for war with Iraq. Its a good pretense.

The Washington Times is reporting it.
Drudge just scans the News services.
We need to get that guy OUT ASAP, and find out why he was there so long, who knew, and what happened to him.

Yeah, does seem like the timing is a bit suspicious. Too conveniant.

As Glen has stated, Drudge is stating what is to appear on Washington Times. He is not making the claim himself. Yes, it is possible no such report shows up on Washington Times as stated. Nonetheless, if it should be true, then whether Washington Times is right or wrong is another matter.

I have no doubt that this claim is indeed going to appear on Washington Times. And I have no doubt that the claim is true as stated by Washington Times. On such basis, I have reasons to believe this is simply propaganda to spice up a case against Iraq and thus justify an immediate action against Iraq.

Unless this citizen was presumed dead this while, it would make little if at all any sense. So, if it is true, I suspect our government knew about it all this while . . . way before. . . . Of course this is my opinion. I do not claim it to be truth or some divine revelation. 🙂

This story has been floating around for a while now... I remember seeing it on Dateline a while ago...

The plane was shot down... US sent a team to the crash site but couldnt find the pilot's body... the weckage of the plane also suggested the pilot ejected successfully too... I remember they said there were also footprints walking away from the plane weckage too...

I suppose they are cloning his body. That would explain where all these drone type Taliban fighters came from, willing to die for their extremist beliefs. 😉

The story is up on the Times website.

It is "convenient" that this is coming up as we are increasingly turning our eyes toward Iraq in the next stage of the war on terror. The article says the CIA got the intelligence from British intelligence. And, the Pentagon re-classified the pilot as MIA over a year ago.

<< This could be the US propoganda machine beginning to turn in preparation for war with Iraq. Its a good pretense. >>

you have to wonder why they kept him this long though? i mean, information and all, but you'd think he'd be useless at this point.

To use as a bargining chip maybe?

I believe it, I would put it past them. His body was never found, his canopy was intact, and Iraq handed over hit flight suit but no body. Why they ruled it a KIA instead of an MIA I have no idea. It should have came up last year. If it is true, poor guy, 11 years in Iraq, and Im sure they tourtured him quite a few times...

If it were true, wouldn't putting it out there as public information be a little dangerous, and pre-mature, for the POW I mean? Either our government doesn't care and just cares about the anger it will generate towards the middle east, or they are further in the way of a resolution in the matter, like maybe they've already gotten him out of there or they believe him to just recently having been killed. My .02

ya know i thought i'd get flamed to hell in a handbasket for saying that but surprisingly i havent. (yet!) :Q

What a coincidence something like this comes up now

There was a ton of evidence that he didn't die in the crash that killed him. Is he alive now? Maybe, maybe not. Wouldn't surprise me though.

Seems to me this has come up previously.

He was changed to MIA over a year ago.

And, as stated before, this story has been on Dateline or one of those news programs before.

You must have convienantly skipped over the info.
