Just wondering if anyone here has a rotovibe, and if they actually use it. I'm in a jazz/funk-with-Zappa-influences-type band and looking to get some nasty funk-tastic sounds out of my guit. Was thinking a phaser, flanger, or a rotovibe...combined with the wah of course.

Thoughts?

Moog probably has something that will do that, I personally only use delay for spatial effect or rhythmic repeats.

Check out the BYOC slow gear(called lazysprocket I think), easy to make and sounds pretty decent.

It's a clone of the classic boss slow gear

If you're looking for nasty funk tones, try running a fuzz with a big fat wave (not sputtery at all) with your neck pickup, tone rolled back, into a wah and an envelope follower / slow gear type pedal.

I have a Line6 M13 with a rotovibe effect. I'll add some tape echo, reverb, and tube overdrive to it to give me a perfect 60's rock sound.

I suck at effects. Never really bothered with them much outside of a bit of reverb to give my tone some depth. I have a Korg AX-30G that I run in my amp's FX loop to play with some phaser sounds and some delay, but that's about it.

I also have 535Q wah pedal that just seemed to introduce a bunch of noise into my signal so I don't really bother with it. I think I need a line conditiner or something. Everybody always raves about that pedal but I could never get it to be quiet even in bypass.

Effects get tedious. Wah, distortion, and reverb is all you need. Everything else is of limited utility.
