A 1972 Marshall (Tan Covered Master Model 50) JMP Mk. 2 Lead, w/ an older JCM900 Top (Slant) Cab.
or - (not sure of the year, mid 60's? ) Old Tan Faced Fender Dual Showman Deluxe..........
I sometimes use the following pedals - Crybaby Wah, an old Boss DM-2 Analog Delay (Currently looking for an Echoplex), an old Boss Flanger and/or Chorus, and an old Rat Pedal (Rarerly, though!)

My Bass rig is pretty basic as well, I've got an old Intersound Bass Preamp (6 Bands of parametric eq that baby!!), a DBX160XT Compressor, and a QSC PLX-3002 Amp, running into a 2 Peavey 2x10 Cabs.

My Guitars are nothing fancy either -
a 94 Les Paul Special (P-90's)
a '72 Tele Standard, but the neck was replaced with a Tokai Strat Neck
some peice of crap Ovation Celebrity Acoustic
and a black Spector Bass (4 string)

Keep it simple is my theory. It ain't the Amp that's making 90% of the sound, it's you, your fingers, and your tecnique!

It's a wunnerful thing - The action is slick, the tone is extremely versatile - good for just about anything. I like it for blues and jazz with a little old time rock & roll just for the hell of it.

I almost went for the natural (another ~300.00) but got to like the cherry after a short while. Plus the Rickenbacker is natural (real pretty), and thought a little color would be a good thing.

Happy Holidays (if you're celebrating a holiday around this time of year ......)

1977 Gibson Solid Mahogany SG Limited, twin humbuckers (1 zebra). Rack of Boss analog effect, and a Morely wah. Fender twin reverb amp. I'm very happy with it all.

I've got a fender jazzmaster which I've just had re-finished in Lake placid blue *with a matching headstock*. It's absolutely beautiful. I'll post some pics soon.

I just have a POS acoustic that I'm currently learning on, but I'd like to get an electric eventually. Only problem is that I already spend too much money on my computers, so another expensive hobby is not what I need. :(

ibenez JS100 joe satriani signature model, black, detuned
fender mex-strat, weird old blue color i don't see anymore, seymor duncan hot rails humbucker, custom pickguard, creative use of a sharpie pen. ;) the humbucker in this one is so hot i have to damp the strings behind the nut with earplugs to keep them from ringing audibly. :)
little 20 watt crate gathering dust
marshall half stack (valvestate 8100 head, first model they came out with)
big muff pedal
snarling dog erogenous moan volume/backwards simulator pedal

shopping list:
SG
mesa dual rectifier head
JCM 800 or 900 head
another 4x12 cab maybe
Schecter C1 Classic, or whatever the neck-through/strings-through model is.

Guitars:

1998 American Standard Fender Strat - Sunburst with maple neck (I hate sunbursts, but I didn't pay for it)
Epiphone Acoustic
I also have another electric that my friend built. Pretty nice (Looks kinda like a washburn)

Amp:

Marshall JCM2000 TSL602

Effects:

Line6 Pod 2.0
Miscellaneous stomp boxes (Big Muff, Danelectro distortion)

Most of the time I use the distortion built into the amp (which is awesome), but the Line6 kicks ASS for recording.

I have a cheap set of guitars - Alvarez RD20S, Squier Affinity P-Bass, Squier Fat Tele, and Ibanez ac/el, also a Johnson J-Station. I changed the pickups on the P-Bass and Tele so I'm happy with what I've got now. I haven't played my guitars in a long time though, after I started messing with soft synths (saving up for a USB MIDI keyboard now).

As I said in the post that was above the post above yours, I have an acoustic ("classical") guitar. It's a cheaper and crappier one; the strings are pretty high above the neck of the guitar, so playing anything except basic chords on it can be kind of painful.

In fact, I was at a music store today (Conservatory of Music in Terre Haute, IN for those who might know of that place) looking at some of the guitars.

<-- was looking at the Fender "Made in Mexico" strats, since they're in my price range (the higher models, OTOH, are not). Is such a guitar worth getting, or would I be better off waiting and getting a "Made in America" strat or perhaps some other kind of electric entirely?

For Power I have a Dean Markley K150 with a 4 speaker cabinet under it, a Marshal 9000 Preamp, and a digitech "Metal Machine" from the 80's.. (It's a hoot...)

I think the store I work for sells them for about $400.00 new. They come with full memory installed now. I will check and post back the facts.

I have a cheap Yamaha accoustic sj400 or something like that. It's bout 18 years old and sounds absolutely amazing. My electric is a truly wonderful Telecaster Thinline 1972. I run everything: voice, accoustic and electric through my Lexicon digital effects processor. I've got a nice old tube screamer distortion peddle and a small Fender tube amp. And you know what, all the great equipment in the world aint worth a damn if you can't play. That was a very great piece of advice I was give free some 25 years ago.

alee25, are you naming yourself after a very great guitar player with the first name alvin?
