My brother has guitar hero 2 for ps2 I wanted to buy him guitar hero 3 for ps2. My question is will the guitar from second game work with the new guitar hero 3? Im guesing it will but just wanna make sure.

Fake guitar compatibility only starts to get complicated when you throw the PS3 and/or Rock Band into the mix.
 
definitely. in fact, the new guitar that they bundle with guitar hero 3 for ps2 is *worse* than the ones that they bundled with guitar hero 1 and 2.
