Guitar Hero: do you play better when drunk?

I honestly cannot play this game when I'm sober. It just doesn't work. I play the notes before I'm supposed to, and the highest score I can get on any setting is about 30k.
Right now I'm very drunk, but I just set new high scores for almost every song on the set list in GH3. All of the previous high scores were also set when I was drunk.

Does anyone else have a similar experience with Guitar Hero? Why can't I play this game when I'm not "impaired" ?

I think if you only play well when drunk, then you're over thinking the game. You basically have to disengage your brain (stop thinking about it and just do it) at higher difficulties, and if you can't do that, I can see where being drunk would assist you.

Ha, maybe you have the delay set incorrectly for your TV and the delay your drunkeness brings on fixes the problem.

I was going to suggest that you just think you're better when you're drunk ala Peter and Lois Griffin singing when they were high but I guess you have the scores to back it up. This makes you more similar to the episode where Peter is awesome at piano while drunk.
Ask me another question I will come up with another set of Family Guy references for you. giggity

I tried to play drums on Rockband after a few drinks, and I was slow enough to miss the notes just enough where I thought something was wrong with the drums. Stupid game!

That may actually be right.

I find when drunk my accuracy takes a hit, but my ability to rock people's face off increases exponentially.

That's how i feel. Whenever i have a slight buzz i feel like im just hitting the notes and not really thinking about it, more of its just kind of natural..

I play better when I have a good buzz but worse when I'm really drunk.l Same as real life guitar.

Same here. GH and RB has raised my drinking level quite a bit. I see a lot of lawsuits from GH players suing because they became alchoholics. 🙂 And they say GTA games are bad!

You have begun down the path of being a real rock star, now go snort some coke off a hookers ass and you will really be able to rock it out.

I have ADHD, coke would just knock me out. In fact, my RB group is called AD/HD.

The best I've ever done on Guitar Hero 2 was when I was tripping balls on 3 hits of LSD playing Freezepop - Less talk more Rokk while my girlfriend(also tripping) danced seductively in front of the TV after promising to fuck my brains out if I got a perfect score....

I did, and she did 😀

This is serious win.

Very true. I generally play real guitar better after I take one drink. I'm too much of a perfectionist and psych myself out by trying to hit every note on time and perfectly. I loosen up after a drink and just let it flow.
