I've been looking on eBay and craigslist for a few days at GH packages and they all are a tad overpriced... even for used gear. Why not go straight to the source today?

If you go to http://www.redoctane.com and add an item to your checkout, it will populate a 10% off coupon to enter automatically and free ground shipping on many items. If you spend over $100, there is a 15% off coupon that can be found googling.

I picked up GH 2 for the PS2, 1 regular guitar, and wireless guitar for $120 shipped.

Just a heads up for some of you in the market.

free ground ship code - ghbfreeship (noted on site, automatic on $100 purchases)

10 % off order - m1033107

15% off order - google "guitar hero forum"

Right on... I'm in for a wireless guitar. Now I have to figure out what colors to paint it.

I've had 4-5 people tell me they love the RedOctane wireless guitars. I haven't tried it out myself just yet... but the fact that they made the game sold me. I want to rock out anywhere in my living room w/ no limitations.

Unrelated, but here's something for the GH fans. Freetar Hero!

That's right. FREE guitar hero for your PC. You'll need a GH guitar and and PS2 -> USB adapter.

Basicly, a user created the game file, that overlays MP3 provided by the user. When you miss a note, the whole song is muffled, but it's still pretty cool. It's plays really well.

There's an editor, and you can make your own songs. However, it's still beta, no whammy support... No multiplayer... But it's free! :)

Here's some of the songlist

Enjoy!

There is another free GH game called frets on fire, and it uses your keyboard to play.

This game is absolutely sick...be prepared to stay up in the wee hours in the mourning with this thing. Also great for parties.

Dammit I bought my friend's PS2, and now I'm debating between buying GH2 now or waiting for the 360 version (own a 360 also).

If I had a 360, I'd probably wait for it... but I bought a ps2 for the GH games only since it was much cheaper.

Alright my GHII package came yesterday and I rocked out on my wireless guitar! These RedOctane wireless guitars are great. I played in my kitchen while my TV is far away in the living room w/ a wall blocking everything. Great reception! Don't settle for anything less. I played for like 4 hours straight yesterday... love it!
