I believe it's possible... but why in gods name would you do something like that? It's called guitar hero for a reason ya know.

But when I was reading the review for GH2 on IGN, they remarked about Activision saying that they're trying to bring a wireless guitar to the XBOX 360, which would be nice, since although Microsoft peripherals aren't cheap (and they'd probably be the one to make the guitar)... they're usually very high quality. I have 0 complaints about my racing wheel :).

If you really wanted to make it wireless, you might be able to mod a 360 controller into it. Little battery pack thing on one of the sides... :D

Beat Freebird on Hard. It's a good workout :p

Fun game, but I not much of a Rock fan, some of the songs are excellent even for non rock people though. I'd be all over it if they released a version with all classic 70's songs. Best Buy up the street has the demo on demo, played Sweet Child Of Mine - is that not on the PS2 one? I don't remember seeing it. Seemed responsive, graphics were a bit sharper. I don't own a PS2 or Xbox360, but BB has them next to each other both with the game running so I played them back to back, since I couldn't find Sweet Child of Mine on the PS2 one I played Trogdor vs GNR, aside from a slight visual improvement I honestly didn't feel like I was playing a different game at all.

Sweet Child of Mine is on the PS2 version. Also, my brother complained about his GH2 guitar's whammy bar and then he tried mine out in some song and he said mine was a lot better than his.

Sweet Child Of Mine is an encore track. Gotta play through on Medium to unlock it and a few others *cough FREEBIRD! cough*.

I did Sweet Child of Mine last night on medium. Man, was it rough. But I am getting better at the game, if only I could be more consistent with the blue/pinky finger button.

Seeing as I've beaten GH2 twice... I'll give you some tips.
1: Don't try to get 5 stars on every song the first time. You can alkways go back and rebeat it.
2:Get used to double strumming on long parts, or fast parts. Search Misirlov on Youtube to see why.
3: Warm up with a song you like. Make sure it's long, but not too hard for you so that you can still play after.
4: Wammy as many notes as you can, and hold onto your star power until the solo. This will help pass the harder songs, even though you still screw up on the blue button ;)

Anyone who needs some GH2 help can PM me and I might be able to answer it. If not, post here! :D

This is one game that just takes practice. It's obviously not as complicated as a real guitar, but I've played guitar for ~5 years and can guarantee you that the hand eye coordination on the frets is exactly the same... as well as getting rhythm down. So just like real guitar, the more you play the better you'll get as you'll be able to do those 2 different things w/ 2 different hands better.

OMG, I just played The Trooper on Medium and it kicked my a$$! I can't imagine it on Extreme.

Also, it was kind of weird hearing someone sing it other than Bruce Dickenson.

picked up a copy today, amazing.

I played through Mother on easy and was hooked. I'll play through the whole thing on medium though, but today was the first time I picked up GH so I'm still fumbling my way through it.

4/7 - Joystiq

After awaiting an official response all week on what Red Octane plans to do about defective guitars some customers received with their copies of Xbox 360's Guitar Hero II, we've received from several tipsters the responses they received from Red Octane. The response brings up nothing but more questions.

Red Octane writes to those with complaints about the guitar, "We have isolated this issue to two model numbers that can be found on the guitar's packaging. The numbers are 95065 and 95055. We are asking that customers who puchased [sic] their items from a retailer perform an exchange with that respective store (for a model number other than the defective two listed above). Customer's [sic] who purchased through our online story [sic] can complete an rma request for their defective item and we will exchange it for a fully function [sic] guitar controller. We do apologize for the inconvenience and will resole [sic] these matters."

Joystiq has been interviewing people all week trying to make sense of this entire issue as Red Octane is less than forthcoming with information. For example, here at Joystiq, we have a 95055 box, with a 95065 sticker placed over the UPC (originally 95055) and a 95065 guitar in the box - everything works fine so far (except star power activation is far less responsive than the PS2 guitar). Over at sister site Xbox 360 Fanboy, where they received a broken controller, they had a 95067 (that is not a typo) box with a 95065 guitar inside. At this point Red Octane acknowledges "defective" models as 95065 and 95055. If you have a defective model guitar, go ahead and return it with Red Octane's blessing.

As I said earlier, my guitar functions perfectly. However, I was playing the game at a friend's house last night and now understand why people are complaining. His guitar sucked.

I have the PS2 version.. and play a lot. I played the xbox version first on a demo, adn then after it was released played the full version at another store. There are some serious issues with the xbox360 guitar. Most of the issues people who played on the ps2 have are just things you'd get used to in time.. like the feel of the explorer vs the SG, and the different shaped buttons, etc. However, the whammy bar on the xbox360 has some serious problems . I saw this when I played the full version the other day... when you start whammying it doesn't take effect for like a half second to a second after you start hitting it... you can never get full star power out of a sustain. This completely blows a lot of star power strategies...

The actual SP activision is realy shakey.. on some guitars you breath too hard and the star power activates, on others you tilt the thing 90 degrees vertical and it won't activate...

Some people have claimed that they went and got a standalone guitar and it was a little different than the one they got in their bundle and these problems were solved, I don't know if that's true... but maybe they did change the construction of the guitars to fix these issues and you have to get one of the newer guitars if you have the original. I can't say much about that.. it's all rumor.

You played... the demo for 360? How is that even possible?

Okay, I played the PS2 version and found that I'm a liar. My guitar sucks. Has anyone had luck taking this back and finding a good guitar?

Question for you guys. I just picked this up yesterday. I know the game has 70+ songs on the disc. The first 35 are unlockable by going through any level difficulty in career. I counted 26 more that you can buy in medium or higher difficulty in career. That makes for 61. How are the other songs unlocked? By beating the game, doing certain things, etc.?

If you play on medium, at the end of each song set you will get an encore song. Since there are 9 song sets, there are 9 encore songs. I think those are the ones you're missing.

Ya, I just got the second set done on medium, and figured that out. However, I thought there were only 7 sets?

Also, I've been saving up the cash so my wife can unlock the songs that she wants, although I went head and unlocked Trogdor. That song is a bitch, even on medium! Just scored 96% on it and 4 stars, so I'm pretty damned happy with myself. I know in the grand scheme of things that it's not that good, but for me it is :).

I'm pretty sure the ps2 version had 8, so the 360 should have one more set. Not positive though.
