Guitar guys...

Platypus

This one's personal.... this is the finale of about 3 months worth of ebay/craigslist scammers, horribly packed and thus damaged boxes, people not calling me back, etc.

But finally, got my hands on a custom MarkIV head.. and it fvcking slays.

Mark

Fender (literally) cleans, brutal high gain heavy metal, the 'boogie lead' and everything in between... I'm in heaven.

I'm an addict 😱

Not yet heh, I finally got some actual recording equipment so I'm gonna start making songs 🙂

I have like 10 songs written but nothing to record with until now 😛

Mark IV's are really nice amps.

I prefer Orange, Tophat, and Matchless myself, though.

I've got an Orange too 😉

🙁 Now you're better than me.

I have the AD30HTC. I didn't care for the Rockerverb. Orange trying to go metal/hard rock just doesn't quite cut it IMO. The Mark IV is vastly superior for that sound. The discontinued vintage Oranges were too expensive, IMO.

Edit: And get that scooped mid-range setting off your equalizer you pansy 😛

I have the 5band eq out of the loop, DONT JUDGE ME 😀

I have a Stiletto Ace for my british fix, vastly superior to the Orange anyway. I compared it to soldanos, riveras, bogners, etc and it beats all of them.

I've got 4 amps now lol, jesus.

Damn. I'd kill for a Soldano or a Bogner.

But some day I swear to own a Matchless. IMO, nothing is better. They are made with all military grade. I read an article where a shipment of Matchless amps got spilled into the ocean where they sat under the salt water for several days. When they were finally salvaged all they did was replace the tubes and they worked as good as new.

I don't really care for Matchless personally, had a chieftan for a short stint, never bonded with it... was good at one sound and that's about it.

If you've got a hardon for handwired class A stuff check out Dr. Z, Victoria, etc

That's a nice amp, no doubt. my guitar teacher used to run one, and send the effects out to his Marshall JCM800. so he had two huge sounding amps running off the Boogie's preamp.

Hehe, just like Metallica did 😀

I really like it so far, dare I go as far to say the cleans are dumble-esque?

So, how do you neighbors like it?

They don't care, I have 4 amps capable of 100 watts, 85 watts, 50 watts and 30 watts class A respectively.. they haven't said anything until now but then again this is all in the basement.

Looks like a nice amp!!

I've been thinking of the Peavey ValveKing 212 Combo to replace my 20 year old 60W Crate.

I always thought Mesa's sounded great, but I never wanted to pay the ridiculous price for one. If I had the money and the inclination I'd go for a Framus before a Mesa. However, I can't fault you for getting a Mark IV, enjoy it. All this is moot for me anyway since I've taken up drums.
