I've never really found a beer that I can say I like. I've tried a few and some like sam adams cream stout were okay but not great. Tonight I was at the liquor store and going to buy vodka but was tempted by a 6 back of guinness in bottles. I remembered a friend describing the flavor as being like chewing on a rubber band. He thought it was really bitter and nasty. I caved and bought the pack anyway. I popped one open a few minutes ago after a couple hours in the fridge. While there is definatley a bitter finish that lasts for a while, its really good. This is easily my favorite beer that I've had so far. So if you don't like most beers, try guinness, its good. :D

Guinness is good. I like something a little lighter though. Sam Adams Lager on tap is awesome. (IMHO...)

One very fine day in Ireland I had a loaf of Irish bread, a cube of Irish butter, and a Guinness right at the factory door. There's more than just one heaven.

I can't begin to describe the pain I feel at having to admit that I agree with Moonbeam on something.

Yet the Gods would strike me down if I did not also admit that a pint of Guinness is a little bit of heaven on earth.

There is a place down the street (Buffalo Wild Wings) that has Guinness on tap for $4 per 23oz during happy hour.

...maybe I should post this in Hot Deals instead :)

You made 2 mistakes.

1. Buying Guinness in bottles. It HAS to be from a can or draft d00d.
2. You put Guinness in the fridge for a couple hours. It's gotta be lukewarm-warm.

The new Guinness bottles are way better than the cans, but nothing compares to a Guinness drawn off of a nitrous tap. Also, I like my Guinness ice cold. Luke warm is just wrong.

There's an Irish bar that my dad likes to go to.. it's called McSwiggin's. I like it a lot.. Had Guiness on tap. Despite having had about 50 previous Guiness' before from the can or bottle, nothing compared to the tap.

BTW, I also tried Strongbow cider. If you want something REALLY different, try Strongbow. I could have another if I knew where the fvck to get it!

EDIT: Almost forgot... Like any proper bar that serves Guiness, they pour it and then wait five minutes before they serve it to you for it to get slightly warmer and for the beer to change color. Good stuff.

Come to England they have Strongbow in pretty much every pub you go into.

Also, no matter what anyone says you haven't had a proper pint of guinness until you have had one in Ireland. No matter where you go it always tastes different to a proper Irish pint.
