Guinness Surger

I don't have any speakers on this PC at work, but I watched the video and read the site. I'm gonna guess the Surger Guinness cans are no different than the regular draught cans.

Yeah, I'd figure anything that didn't have the widget would be ok.

Wonder if that works well with other beers.
My coworker and I were postulating what might happen when you put other beers and carbonated beverages on it. I bet if you put a glass of Coke in it, you'd get a sticky mess! 🙂

The draught can's have widgets, I figured these Surger ones had them to.

I used to LOVE that beer, but then I had one the other day after not having one for a few years and I didn't like it 🙁.....what is wrong with me?!?!?!

I don't think so...did you see the guy's pour? There was NO head before putting it on the surger.

I would think it would taste funny since the Nitrogen released from the widget helps give it that smooth creamy taste.

FIRST came the widget, and now an ultra-sonic gadget is being launched to help Guinness fans perfect their pint.

The electric-powered device is said to activate the gases in the canned beer to make it seem similar to the draught version.

Called a "surger", it sends an ultra-sonic pulse through the pint glass which sits on top of it.

The process takes between 30 seconds and 1.5 minutes from emitting the pulses until the beer is still.

Teresa Octavio, innovation strategy director at Guinness' parent company Diageo GB, said the invention was meant to boost Guinness consumption in the home.

She said: "Guinness Surger creates the theatre and anticipation around the Guinness serve that we know many Guinness drinkers expect and enjoy."

The surger only works with Guinness Draught Surger beer which is made to the Guinness Draught recipe but with a different gas mix.

Users first plug the surger into the mains, then add a little water to its metal plate. The beer must be poured into a pint glass and placed on the device, which is then switched on to emit the pulses.

Guinness Surger kits including the unit, two cans of beer and a pint glass will go on sale in selected Tesco stores from next week priced at £16.99.

The special Guinness Draught Surger beer will be sold in packs of four priced at £4.99.
..

Guess it's mixed with the gases a little differently and the super sonic sound waves releases the special gas mix.
