Guinness Drinkers: Bottles or Cans?

My roommate and I have just polished off a four-pack of Guinness in under five minutes - two car bombs each. The pack, however, was $7, and a 12-pack of bottles is around $10-11. It got me thinking - which is better, cans or bottles?

Note that this isn't necessarily to drink by itself as there is almost no difference there.

The Pub Draft cans are still imported from the brewery in Ireland, the bottles are brewed under license by Molsen in Canada.

While everything is better in a bottle, everything I've heard about Guinness is that it's better out of the can. *shrugs* I've only had it on tap or bottled.

If you're making car bombs go with the cans. And guiness bottle suck cause you're supposed to drink them out of the bottle, who the hell wants to drink a guiness out of a bottle.

I guess that explains the price on the cans. It was worth it. It got my roommate drunk :D

In any other beer this is correct.

BUT Guinness is way better in the new can.

I didn't want to start a new thread, but thought i would post this jus cuz it's a beer-related thread.

For all you IPA-lovers, try some Yard's IPA.. it's heaven in a bottle (it's bottled conditioned like many other good IPA's).. omg, the frothy head is insanely tastey.. the mouthfeel is great and the taste is better than i can describe.. :)

Hmmm...IPA?

I usually only drink cheap American beers - Natty light, Beast, you get the idea...there's a Busch brewery 5 miles away from me, so I'm partial to crappy pisswater.

can with the CO2 cartridge. Mmm...

It's nitrogen, not CO2.

They supposedly spent 10+ million developing it to try and perfect the rich head that Guinness is so famous for...

In the case of guinness, they taste exactly the same (to me anyway).

I use cans for car bombs because it should be 1 can/3 bombs.

I mix 'em as: 2/3 shot jameson, 1/3 shot bailey's, 1/3 can guinness. Drop the shot into that beautiful thick beer and away you go! 8 bombs later (in addition to everything you drank throughout the day) you feel urges to steel a huge Beer sign from the hotel you're staying and take a piss in between some semis at a truck-stop while your friend is losing that big tuck-stop style burger and fries he just wharfed down.....

As others corrected, Guinness is perhaps the only brew that is better served in a can as opposed to a bottle.

It's brewed by Labbatt, in my home town. And it sucks. Go cans. Or, get your lazy but up and go down to the pub. It's worth it.

LMAO that's awesome...bombs are the only way to get drunk off of Guinness. My local pub has a "mug night" where you can get close to a liter of Guinness for $5. It's like drinking bread out of a cup...but it's awesome.
