Guinness Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout worth it?

The Left Hand milk stout and Peanut Butter stout are outstanding. I have also tried Founder's Breakfast Stout, some local NC brewery Highland or something, their stout - neither were as good to me as Left Hand.

The Left Hand Peanut butter stout is amazing. The one below from Humboldt County was nice but not as good as Left Hand. I have some Dragon's Milk bourbon barrel stout in the fridge now to try. Guinness Nitro Coffee stout is quite good to me also. I am trying to find a stout by Ten FIDY but the beer guy at the store near me said its seasonal so they get that in the fall. They did have KBS bourbon barrel stout as well, that I'll get soon.

I did end up with some of the Left Hand Bittersweet, I don't enjoy it as much as the Galactic Cowboy.

If I see that Galactic Cowboy I will grab it for sure. It was there a month ago but not since. I think I like stouts that have a bit more hint of sweetness to them than others that are more firmly in the bitter only camp. This is why the Left Hand milk and peanut butter stouts resonate with me. Was the Bittersweet too bitter or too sweet perhaps?

I don't think it was either of those, I think it's just the chocolate flavor probably (even though it's not a super prominent chocolate flavor). And it was still good, just less good to me 😀
I'll have to report back after I've had another, I only drank one so far. I might even do a side-by-side comparison.

Having a Dragon's Milk Bourbon Barrel Stout and not a fan. I like Bourbon and I like Stout, but it's not the best combo. Which makes it even more overpriced.

I gotta talk to the beer manager at the big store by me and have them get that variety pack.

They don't have that stout there. I'll have to look around at other stores. Maybe baby jesus has a website with some info on distribution.

And if you can find the barrel aged Narwhal - at 11.9% its best to have a friend to split a can.

I fucking love the High West Victory at Sea, but haven't found any in a couple years. One of my all time favorites for sure.
I got a four pack of that barrel aged Narwhal too, but haven't cracked into it yet.

The KBS may not be your thing either, then.
I typically have a Dragon's Milk at least once or twice a month, I think it's great. So far I haven't much been a fan of their special reserve options though.

I found baby Jesus! Turns out I missed it among the long rows of refrigerated beers

It's quite delicious! The left hand is a bit smoother and richer but they are both very tasty.

Got a pack of Guinness draught nitro cans tonight. After trying all these other more robust stouts, it tastes like a light beer lol

Yeah, I didn't try Guinness until after I'd already had other stouts... didn't do much for me!
Ran into the Guinness nitro cold brew recently though, and I do like that. It very much straddles the line between stout and coffee, if you're into that.

I tried the Left Hand Bittersweet again, and I do think it's the specific sweeter chocolatey notes that make me rank it below the Galactic Cowboy.

With you on the Guinness nitro cold brew. It's tasty. Easy to just want to have another. Had it a couple weeks ago.
