you first must define what your looking for in a game

i hear, there is only so much you can "do" in GW, but the PVP owns that of WoW.
dunno,

Totally differant games. If you want to play a MMO, get WoW. If you want to play a 3d diablo, get Guild Wars. Both are fun, but i enjoyed pre honor system WoW a good amount more. I play guild wars only now, since i canned my WoW subscription (due to WoW sucking up all my time, GW is much less addictive) but i still admit that WoW is a much better game.

Probably WoW, Guild Wars is great for about a month, but after that there just isn't a whole lot left. See one Arena deathmatch you've seen em all, and Tombs basically boils down to who has the lamest/cheesiest strat.. or the most Monks.

Notfred,

I'm surprised to see you asking such a serious question about MMORPGs. From everything you posted to theis point I got the idea you dislike MMORPGs and think they are a waste of time. You have always recommend people get involved in RL activates instead of immersing themselves into a fantasy world.

Are you looking to join the ranks of AT MMORPGers?

With that said I believe WoW is the better game of the two. Being a GM on two different servers I haven't had more fun playing with liked mind people like I do with WoW.

They're completely different type of playstyles... all in all, 9/10 of everybody i know that has played GW, has given up on it and went back to their respective MMOGs (as did i... only one person i know still plays GW, and even he admits L2 was more fun... he's just not playing L2 due to time constraints).

I haven't played Guild Wars. It looks like fun, a very pick-up-and-play approach. But the last thing I need is something else to suck up my time. WoW is enough an addiction for me.

And I hear the community is even worse than in WoW...I can't stand aolesque dialects.

I don't have anything against MMORPGs, except when people get addicted to them and spend nearly thier entire waking lives playing games.

I love guild wars, but didn't like diablo. The thought of doing the same dam game over and over to level up is just stupid. W/ GW, you always have something new to do in order to level up. Guild wars turned me into an RPG fan, as I didn't care much for them before. The fact that there's no monthly payment for GW makes it leaps and bounds above WOW in my mind, but I have a very strict budget and am not a die hard RPG fan.

So why do you care how people spend their free time? Are they ruining society? Are they causing crimes? Or they beating up their wives when they don't get the loot?

WoW is 100% better imo. I bought Guild Wars, and it only held my interest for like 20 mins. The whole time I was playing GW I kept thinking about what I could/should be doing in WoW.

This looks like it will turn into just another thread with a debate over MMOs and society with the MMOs are for losers people versus the MMOs are great entertainment people.
