I'd say that these two games are the only new games I'd consider buying right now, but I only have money for one. I have the BF2 demo and although I'm more into FPS than RPG, it didn't impress me that much (neither did BF1942 for that matter). The game seems rushed. It's fun, but there are a lot of annoying issues.

So it might seemed that I'm biased towards GW, but that's because I haven't played it so I have nothing to say about it. Wish there was a demo... Anyway like I said I'm mostly into FPS but I played the absolute hell outta D2/LOD and from what I've read, GW is 3d Diablo.

Do you use the mouse in GW or would a controller be better since it seems to be more close-camera, 3rd person as opposed to Diablo where you can see all around and need to click to get there.

Please vote with your choice of the better game!

well if you don't have money, playing online rpgs is gonna suck because there's gonna be all kinds of ebayers who are twinked to the max from day one. I'm not saying you have to necessarily compete with these cheaters, but it sure as hell won't be enjoyable to be the only gimp in the village, if you know what I mean...

If you liked D2 you will probally like Guild wars. Its not D3 but there are some aspects that remind you of D2. Mouse and keyboard are the controllers of choise. And you can you the mouse wheel to go from first person view or zoom out to a wide area view. Camera angle is controllable also with the right mouse button. I am very interested in BF2's squad ability. However im not seeing it used yet and its really just an updated BF42 without it. Your comment "I'm more into FPS than RPG" is a consern though. There is no dualing in Guild Wars all PvP is done group to group. So I'm not sure how to advise you after all. I like and play both games though I'll probally tire of BF2 if I dont find a squad or at least a server where squad play often occures. Thats me though. In the end Guild wars is a hard game to describe, Its an mmorpg that isn't an mmorpg and Its D2 like while being very different than D2.

Shooter? BF 2
MMORPG Lite? Guild Wars

I have guild wars...... its ok. I think I expected more from it really. There are only 20 levels. You buy the same armor sets just at later times with higher AC settings. The quests and missions are REPETITIVE, most of the skills are useless, yet the pvp is awesome, then again, I hate pvp... What is great about guild wars is that it takes skill to play, you have to use the right skills, the party has to be balanced, and you have to target the right people and hope everyone else targets that person too.
I still play Warcraft 3: DOTA 3.7, that game is just plain addictive.

There just needs to be an awesome online game, almost all of the current ones are just power "grinds" that don't really allow for a player to do whatever and still level decently. It's more of a formula: figure out the best mob to kill, kill it until there is a better one to kill, kill that one, repeat. Maybe there will never be a good game...I myself am pretty excited about the upcoming Elder Scrolls game, and I was very pleased with Ultima Online, until Lord British left and it went to crap(I left UO for EQ anyway)

LOL WoW is outta the question because of the monthly fee. Nice try though :D

Still haven't decided. Suppose I could coax my bro into letting me borrow and play around with BF2; he just bought it. Thus if I don't like it I'll have no choice but to buy GW and watch my grades suffer just as summer classes are about to start!! :(

Man, those are 2 really different games. Depends on your style. If you like rpgs and wanna play w/ people AND on your own, go w/ guild wars. If your in the mood for quick action go w/ BF2. In all honesty, I never liked RPGs until guild wars. It turned me into an rpg fan.
