I'll try those tomorrow, I am just getting sick of using beta's all the time to try and fix the issue...

Probably try a fresh rebuild at some point, but with all my other games running just peachy it is hard to justify at this point. Besides, my guest gaming box is the one I play it on now, thankfully my CRT has two monitor inputs and I just use another KB & mouse, etc...

Hmm, I haven't played GW in a while Nat. I just upgraded to the 81.85 drivers too. Let me fire the game up on my 6200 and see what happens.

Wow, that is HORRIBLE. The textures will return to normal if you move around a little, but as soon as you get to a new area, there they are again. I'm at one of the towns in the Shiverpeak mountains. Try moving your view back and forth on snowy mountains. It shimmers visibly. That makes my eyes water :(

Awesome, will do. Thanks!

*Edit*
These drivers are a MUST. They cured all my GW texture problems, and the game looks great once again sans shimmering. I even gained 60 3dmarks, lol. Thanks again Gstanfor.

Nat, get these now.

I've tried almost all, and the 79.11's are by far the best. Better performance and better image quality

Ah, I wanted to stick with these for my hours playing FEAR... any thoughts on that? And still, it is ridiculous having to switch drivers around like this for games. Its like the days of owning my 8500 all over again...

Avalon - thanks a BUNCH for checking it out for me, I was still beginning to think I was crazy as the only one complaining about it ;)

Does Guild Wars still have problems if I were to upgrade to the latest driver?

Didn't you read anything in this thread? :p
The latest drivers (81.xx) cause texture problems for GW. Use the 79.11 drivers, and everything will be peachy.

Then you haven't tried GW with the latest drivers. All 6 and 7 series cards should be effected.

This happened for me too...if you change the video settings in game, it goes away for some reason.

If this is a big problem for you, just switch back to some older drivers. Sometimes Nvidia will screw up on drivers.

sounds like a game problem, not a card problem then. if this was a card issue, then everyone would have a problem. i have not run into this problem at all. i play bf2 and people get this problem in bf2. if its a card problem, then i should get it too right?

*irony on* It's problems like these that makes me so happy I just got a 7800GT..... *irony off*

Seriously. I have been using ATI cards since the end of the GF4 era. And have enjoyed the fact that they fix issues rather quickly with games. Every month there is now drivers, and most issues I have had has been resolved.

So, to come to the point why I answered in this thread. How often do nVidia update their drivers?
(I have the same bugs in Guild Wars too).
