FFMCobalt,

fix the following, rember to kill the process in process viewer before removing
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [3EEBLW52WTG7D@] C:\WINDOWS\System32\NauZjgH.exe

notes
  1. You might be infected withSandbox, see if the files listed on that page are on your PC.
The two proccesses you have running SbuD92dS.exe and KgnJ8V3.exe do not look good, run an uptodate virus scan
If this fails to fix your problems, download and run the latest version of HiJackthis and post the new log after you run the scans with the updated definitions

Problems with AIM...something that keeps logging AIM on without my knowledge and changing my away message to a link to a virus.

sounds like a trojan more than spyware, try updating your antivirus and running scans with it. if your subscription to NAV has expired, try the free AVG or an online scan like housecall ASAP

btw, doesnt this process control auto log ons and stuff? try disabling that service in AOL to see if it can log on by itself or not. I would not have any sensative info on that computer you have untill that trojan is removed.

Scan of my neighbors computer. Her only complaint is the machine is always locking up with lots of HD activity.

Carrot39,

Before you do anything
1. Make sure that you have extracted HiJackthis to a folder that is isolated before removing anything, for hijackthis makes backups within the folder it is in.
2. Close all browsers

fix the following, rember to kill the process in process viewer before removing (if applicable)

perform the following steps after using hijackthis
  • 1. Remove RealPlayer and/or RealOne player
2.uninstall OSSProxy by clicking on Start > Run and type "C:\Windows\SYSTEM\NSCheck.exe /uninstall"
    3. restart into safemode and delete the directory "C:\WINDOWS\EReg206"

Pacfanweb,

Before you do anything
1. Make sure that you have extracted HiJackthis to a folder that is isolated before removing anything, for hijackthis makes backups within the folder it is in.
2. Close all browsers

fix the following, rember to kill the process in process viewer before removing (if applicable)

Thanks, I'm going to follow your instructions, but I also have a few questions related to what you posted:
1. If Google toolbar is all I need (and I just got the other ones trying to stop this 2020 crap) then why do I still get popups even with all the stoppers I have at this time?

2. I have Etrust antivirus, latest ref. file, just ran a full scan Friday and it showed nothing.

Thanks again.

1. Pop ups caused by websites are what google and other pop up blockers block. Your pop ups are most likely caused by adware. Pop up blockers are usually ineffective against this type of pop up.
2. Unknown (try online scanner like housecall)

lagvoid, Yahoo puts allot of crap in your browser when you play their games or use their IM. it is safe to remove (the yahoo thing), but it will reinstall itself if you dont click no on the install when the activeX box pops up when you go to play the game. Is there a URL listed below the activeclassinstaller in your log? i need to see the URL before you remove it.

Okay, I just did all the steps you recommended, uninstalled all the new programs I had downloaded, and ran the Housecall antivirus.
It found TWO viruses or trojans, one was infamous_downloader, the other was silent.exe. I deleted both (it said they couldn't be cleaned). I ran eTrust EZ antivirus prior to doing any of this...it was updated, and found nothing. It's always performed really well for me in the past. Before deleting the files, I even searched for them, and had it specifically scan silent.exe and the infamous_downloader....still said no problem.
Anyway, I just tried a couple of Google searches and all seems well.
Thanks again!!

Schadenfroh, thanks for looking over log. I haven't had any problems, just wanted to make sure there was nothing installed that I wasn't aware of.
thanks again

instead of deleting it, try this. go into the AVG antivirus shortcut (not the thing in your tray), click on

program>virus vault and delete the stored viruses.

alright..but the drive in question is just slaved thru USB 2.0(oopz..forgot to mention..that is where the folder is ..) at the moment(ran Spybot and Adaware..knocked over 481 different junkers/malwares/etc. AVG quarantined 9xx different files..might have to do chkdsk /p on it..) ..would it hurt to delete..as as soon as get this drive back in its old home I do plan to install AVG on it..thanks Schadenfroh :) nice site and very much appreciated :)

3rd pass with HouseCall..0 files..:)
no issues with the deletion..

if the virus vault is located on the slave and you are planning on reinstalling AVG on the slave anyway, i guess it would not matter, be sure to delete it out of the recycle bin. But really, i dont know if its safe to delete if its on the PC that AVG is running on. Sorry man, i just dont know.
