We've become a race of Peeping Toms. What people ought to do is get outside their own house and look in for a change. Yes sir. How's that for a bit of homespun philosophy?

Definitely Seattle area.
You can see the Amazon headquarters in the back (orange building, aka PacMed, gave it away) which is in south Seattle.

Since Seattle is on the left of Lake Washington, and he's facing north, while at the end of Lake Washington, I'd have to say Renton, WA.

If it's not, it's somewhere between the junction of I-5 and I-405.

Do I get a :cookie:?

no cookie for you, you are wrong.

Since the prize isn't real you should at least make it something Norwegian. We can all get cinnamon oatmeal cookies here in the states, after all.

a Cod fillet that has been soaked in Lye/Acid until it has literally been stripped of all smell, texture, and taste

Either I've had too much to drink or this just makes no sense. How can you soak something in lye and still have it be edible??? Now that I think about it, I'd rather have the cookie.

It is edible..... just not at all palatable.

ÆOrigins
The origins of lutefisk are a subject of debate. Some accounts mention a fish accidentally dropped in a washing bowl containing lye, and because of family poverty, the fish had to be eaten. Æ

Ever eat olives? They're soaked in lye as part of the process...
