It's a 240sx so most likely a SR20DET though there's always the chance of a RB26DET. I could also imagine, if there was enough time and effort put in, a 1/2JZ-GTE or even Ford Windsor/Modular or LSx. Then there's always the chance of someone swapping in a 13B-REW or leaving the stock KA24DE, but if it's stock, there is no reason for this thread.

That should cover 99% of all 240SX swaps.

It's running cali plates though so I'm not sure if any of those choices would pass CARB approval besides the KA24. No idea though, never lived anywhere near California.

RB26 or LS1 most likely. Those are very common though so I expect to be surprised.

Damn, you guys are good. It's actually LS2, fully tuned courtesy of Cunningham Motorsports. It's not my car, just some random guy that I thought is cool.

I'll take more pictures of stuffs tomorrow.

You're closer than you think. The plates say LMAO V8 so I really think it's a LSx, mot likely a LS1 which had 345.7 Cubic inch displacement and 350hp in a corvette.

I couldn't resist, such a perfect time to use the phrase, since it literally has double meaning in this context ^_^

It's not that simple, the only thing Japanese about that car, is the shell. You'll see.

I was mostly referring to the mindset of shoving big engines in small cars because its "cool" rather than a specific scenario

That mindset has been the primary basis of hot rodding since the conception of the combustion engine.

Redneck Engineering or Hotrodding, you still have to respect the speed this car is going to be capable of. Whether or not the chassis or the rear end will handle that torque without twisting might be another story.
