<< Very nice.
Some guy broke into high 13's with just an intake with the 3.5 in the alty forums.

An Intake that took off .5 sec.... I'd have to see to belive

Oh yes! 😀

I'm trying to talk my dad into selling his 2000 Maxima for a 2002 Altima 3.5SE.. I think he'd be happy with the switch!

Woohoo! Hooray for Altima! I would say I am very happy with my Altima 3.5 SE that I bought back in November. I've put almost 9000 miles on it already 🙂 I think this award is well-deserved, but simply because it was the best car I test drove when looking for cars. It is huge on the inside, plenty of leg room, and the engine is SO powerful. I love this car. I personally like the interior - don't think it looks bad at all, and the 6 CD Bose stereo is great, too. I test drove a GTP, too, and although I was impressed with it, I was more impressed with the Nissan and the resale value that I will probably get over what I would have gotten with the GTP.....well, that's many years down the road, though.

<< An econo...scremin meme 4 cyl...ride like a log wagon...cramped little teenee weinee...squeeze yourself in POS finally made it I see!:disgust: >>

Uhhh...WTF man? Are you even reading the same article??? This car has a V6 that will leave it nipping at the back of a Mustang GT and offers as much, if not more seating room than a full size Crown Vic.

<<Notice how Honda refuses to offer cash rebates to move Accord product? They will not tarnish the brand like that and this partially explains why Honda vehicles frequently exhibit industry-leading resale values.>>

I recalled that last year, Honda sold a special edition Accord with EX-like options at DX prices. That was rather costly for Honda but it won them the sales crown for 2001.

Most average drivers get 14.4s STOCK with the Altima V6 5-spd. The person in question got 13.9s and the difference is mostly related to driver skill than intake.

However there is an intake that is proven to gain 10hp+ and 7lb/ft+ over stock. Its been dyno-proven in back to back runs.

The fastest 2k2 Maxima 6-spd is the one that ran 14.2s in the 1/4mi. It was stock as well (I think..not sure on this).

<< '95 Camry LE which is mine
'02 Highlander Limited which is my bitch 😉 (actually my dad's, but I've put more miles on it than him so it's MINE😛)
>>

NFS,
Just picked up a Highlander myself. Wanted an MDX but I couldn't stand the 2-4 month waiting period plus having to pay over MSRP. The Highlander rocks. I am very happy with my new Highlander.

What the hell is with the clear taillights? They look like crap, and it's one of the reasons I dislike the Lexus IS300...

<< The Altima definitely deserves it - it looks great on the outside, and on paper....

However, what the hell were they thinking with that interior?? The circular dash layout is just...not for me. 🙂
>>

i totally agree.. the interior is Bleh... it's a GREAT CAR for the PRICE... but that's it...

I don't know that I would put it with GTP but they are both very nice cars.
The new lineup from Nissan is impressive, HOPEFULLY getting my Maxima within a couple of weeks.

I wish I had bought the SE Accord instead of the EX civic last summer

Sweet, I can buy Nissan vehicles for 4% below invoice. Too bad I don't need a new car nor have the money for one now.

Its a very nice car but I don't buy that 5.9 0-60 run. Look around the web for other reviews, the best run I can find with the same eng/trans combo for that car is 6.3. Methinks their numbers are a little optimistic.

<<
Honda better hurry. The new Camry and Altima are stealing tons of customers away from the Accord. 🙂
>>

i dont think so. honda sold more units than toyota in 2001, giving them the bragging rights to "best selling car in america"

The new Camry and Altima debuted in model year 2002 and both of them have increased in sales while the Accord is dropping in sales.

Sales for the first 2 months of 2002:

1. Toyota Camry 2002: 72,117 2001: 53,297 +35.3%
2. Honda Accord 2002: 52,682 2001: 68,665 -23.3%
3. Nissan Altima 2002: 28,453 2001: 22,574 +26.0%

I 2nd that... DOT needs to get on that crap, Turn signals should ALL be Yellow, get on a standard you turd companies! :|

woo... 0-60 in 5.9s for the Altima? that's pretty quick I must say... faster than a lot of it's competitors out there...

for you skeptics...

the altima guy who ran 13.9 did some more runs yesterday at Etown in NJ.
not 13's this time. only 14.5 because of the wet conditions.
if the roads were dry, he could've done better.

and he posted time slips for his 13.92(?) sec run, and has all the proof to back it up.
however, mechanical error could be a factor.

grumble well the civic now looks like ASS. and its got a good 4 years b4 redesign..hope it gets smacked down by corolla so they have to speed up their cycle.

and go altima! i can't believe someone said the gran prix had style hehe..
