Guess what car got MotorWeek's 2002 car of the year?

'95 Camry LE which is mine
'02 Highlander Limited which is my bitch 😉 (actually my dad's, but I've put more miles on it than him so it's MINE😛)

So now it's ok to go with a magazine's recommendation?

I wonder why so many people b!tched and whined about Avalanche being Truck of the year?

I was close a while ago to buying a new altima (as some of you may remember)

but the interior (as well as my local sales staff) really put me off 🙁

great value for the price though...so that award is most likely deserved

The Altima definitely deserves it - it looks great on the outside, and on paper....

However, what the hell were they thinking with that interior?? The circular dash layout is just...not for me. 🙂

Ummmm...It's Motorweek's Driver's Choice. Not the magazine's car of the year. Or am I missing something?

*Edit.....I'm thinking of Motor Trend aren't I?

wow! i am surprised! =) honda is falling behind.. we need more nice looking cars honda! the same formula isn't working anymore!

The current Accord body style is in its fifth and final year, so it's not going to look as sexy as a newly-cut 2002 model. But things will change in August when the most dramtically redesigned Accord ever is put on the market.

Very nice.
Some guy broke into high 13's with just an intake with the 3.5 in the alty forums.

Honda better hurry. The new Camry and Altima are stealing tons of customers away from the Accord. 🙂

Notice how Honda refuses to offer cash rebates to move Accord product? They will not tarnish the brand like that and this partially explains why Honda vehicles frequently exhibit industry-leading resale values.

I think the Altima stands more to lose than the Camry from the 2003 Accord. I, for one, cannot stand Detriot interiors and it seems Nissan used the Big 3 as "inspiration" for the Altima's plasticy cabin. The new Accord will probably feature an exquisitely tight and refined interior space for a midsize sedan.

Nissan may win the horsepower race, but it seems the general public doesn't place HP very high on their evaluation list. Consider that about 70% of all Accord and Camrys are sold with I-4s putting out 140-160hp.

I too am very impressed with the new Altima- wasn't so much until I saw it in person (in black! :Q ) at the Dallas Auto Show last weekend- it is a really great looking car, especially the interior. Lots of legroom in the back and the ergonomics up front is supurb. Nissan does it again!

Which has yet to be verified, from the last I heard. I myself am VERY skeptical.
