Guess the movie

Its about a storm or something that comes to a small island and theres an evil person or entity or something that wants a child or maybe all the children and the residents have to choose which child is taken... yeah its definately 1 child not all of them, if it was all then i guess they wouldnt have to pick.

I keep thinking its "the perfect storm" but by the looks of IMDB that actually seems to be about a storm rather than evil person/thing wanting a kid.

Is it related to the South Park episode where all the kids use the "m" word and get all the parents "disappear"? The kids split into two groups and every night at Carousel, the side without "the book" have to choose a kid to appease John Elway.

Close, but "Storm of the Century" i think is what you're looking for. For a 'made for TV' movie it was pretty good.
