Having lived in L.A. County most of my life, I hope the Lakers win another championship.

The crowd control & rioting makes for good TV viewing :D A few years ago they even torched a police cruiser.
Then Shaq made a donation to cover the cost of a new one. Oh ! It's so grand ;)

To actually add to the topic I think the Lakers are very stoppable. The Lakers are a very good team when fully healthy, we've known this all year. People can't judge the Lakers based on their last week of play. Everyone is suddenly all over the Lakers after beating Sac and Minny in the same week. I'll admit that they were impressive doing this, but it still one week of dominate play. Before last week the Lakers were letting bad teams make 20 point comebacks on them and didn't look great, although they did win games.

The Lakers are winning based on pure talent right now and they haven't had time to work together. I think that the experience playoff teams such as SA, SAC, and *gasp* even Dallas will start making their final playoff push and will look a lot better. Just don't judge a team based on a week's worth of play. The Lakers are good, their experience and talent will take them far, but to say that they're unstoppable is wrong.

Adding to what Reliant said - they are stoppable. Regarding Dallas though - it's not looking too upbeat when even Memphis has a better record than they do :|

Memphis is looking good. As of right now it'd be a Dallas/LA first round. That should be entertaining. Dallas has a VERY soft schedule for the rest of the season and Memphis has a kind of rocky road. I still think that Dallas is going to the 5 seed before the end. They've been here too often to not realize they need to step it up.

Agreed they can be stopped. Anything is possible but if you put the facts Lakers have been the best team in the league when the Big4 have been playing together. When the season started they kicked some ass then injuries/fights/cases etc. played their part and finally they are started to gell again. Look what happens when the Big4 are together. Some A$$ kicking is always on the cards.
Hell ya baby They are virtually unstoppable !!
Go Lakers whoop some a$$ !!

fools, the Lakers are 20-4 since the All star break, best in the NBA! Sac doesn't look as sharp now that Cwebb is back. Brad miller's numbers have been way down since.

if they stay healthy they'll win it all and everyone will come back to do it again next year

if they don't, they'll lose and the team will blow up (phil, gp, malone, kobe, fisher, fox, russell, and grant could all leave)

The Lakers look dominant but they're stoppable. Kobe could further damage his shoulder, Malone's knee could act up, Shaq's big toe could sideline him, and that just leaves Payton. If the Lakers do not win it this year, the team will implode with the departure of Kobe, Malone, Payton, and Phil Jackson. This leaves the team with just Shaq and they're back to being mediocre, at best.

Even with this 9-0 run, I'm still convinced that a younger faster team can beat them in a 7-game series.

obviously Millers numbers will be down since hhe is getting less minutes coming off the bench

yes the lakers are 20-4 BUT they edged out vicotories against teams that they should have dominated ie going to OT vs the Magic, Bucks, and Clippers. take the 9-0 streak and 20-4 record with a grain of salt

their last 4 games, theyve won by 24, 17, 7, and 19.

24 and 17 against the top two seeds in the western conference.

This thread is the funny. Too tired to give all the reasons why, but barring injury, there's about 0.0001% chance the Lakers don't win the title this season. If I'm wrong bump this thread. If I'm right, I'll be doing the bumping. ;)

In case you're curious, that doesn't make any sense, the Lakers have the 4th largest payroll in the NBA behind the Blazers, Kings and Mavs.
