I am a Kings fan living in Southern California so I get to watch all the games; the Lakers are looking mighty impressive right now.
I still think that the Kings or the Spurs can give the Lakers trouble in the playoffs. Go Kings!

i highly doubt that any other team, than those listed above, has a legitimate chance of winning the championship for many years to come. unless of course, there are a few drastic changes in a team due to trades or free agent acquisitions.

Well, if Indiana or Detroit have an easy go in the Leastern Conference playoffs, I think they have a chance to knock off a tired Western team who has gone through 3 grueling playoff series.

the kings have a legit shot at the lakers

the bright side of the lakers winning is that malone will FINALLY retire, payton and Kobe might leave (highly dountful they will keep both), leaving only shaq and either payton or kobe at the very best, making the lakers a vulnerable team for next year

No chance for Sac this year, lineup isn't deep enough and they aren't playing D. If standings hold, I'll take TWolves over the Kings 2nd round.

Who says Malone will retire?

Shaq is locked in, Kobe more than likely will stay, and Malone and Payton will play another season. Nothing has changed for weeks/months now.

the LA times article published on the 26 (i think it was the the 26th) suggests that malone is leaning towards retirement, i believe a championship will lock the decison. Kobe has made it clear that he will test the market, with the clippers being one of his top choices. payton has also made a comment about not getting enough playing and expressing the possibility of leaving. i would be really surprised if all three come back. malone and payton are only in it for a title so there would be no reason for malone to continue when he says he wants to retire after he wins one and there is no reason for payton to stay on a team where he is not happy with the playing minutes after he gets his ring

NBA tonight listed sac town as having the deepest bench in the NBA. you have an allstar in brad miller coming off the bench and an allstar caliber in Bobby J as well. this is the first time in NBA history that an allstar and the reigning 6th man are coming off the bench in the playoffs

as for the D, they arent any worse than they were in previous years. finally they get a defensive presence back in C. Webb but the kings always just try to out score the opponent rather than clamp down. although i dont agree with the philosophy, they do have a lot of offensive threats AND it ALMOST worked for them 2 years ago against the lakers

They aren't even first in their division and riding a 9 game winning streak?!?

They will find some way to fvck it up...Eith Shaq hurts his big toe again or Kobe gets stuck in court.

as much as i wouldnt mind a spurs/lakers western conference showdown, id much rather see a kings/lakers match-up. when lakers got the 3rd title a couple years back and beat the kings in that western conf. final, that was probably one of the most exciting series ive ever seen. it literally a nail biter every last 2 minutes of each game. im hoping for the same this year (with of course, the lakers winning it) :D
