Stupid HD-DVD dieing off right after(few months) I bought my A3.

There was a HD DVD version, but you had to import it. Probably be cheaper just getting a Blu-ray player and picking up the Blu-ray set now.

They'll be below $200 by the end of the year, methinks.

I would strongly suggest not getting overly worked up about profile 2.0 support - right now, it's basically worthless.

Profile 1.1 and upgradable to 2.0. It's $258.37 shipped right now.

Heh, I didn't see this till they had jacked the price back up.

I went ahead and ordered the BoB set and I'll just try to snag a good deal on aplayer between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I think you will see similar deals on a BR player during black Friday like you saw last year on HD players since they are trying to move out older profile BR players. What you won't see is good deals on HD-TVs unless they are cheap off brands because of a tight supply since people are upgrading due to the HD conversion at the end of February. I think BoB would look stunning in HD, too. And a surround sound remix would be even better.

I think the profile 1.0 players will get down to $150 by black friday, and the profile 1.1 players down to $200.

They've already been under those price marks in the past week or two through various sales..

If Blu-Ray can't get a $99 player out on Black Friday, its doomed.
