Only get the rebate...no dickering....that is the price.... Tell me why again are we bailing this company out?

Cars are very high for what they are....
Resale is for shit....
Decent reliability...but not as good as competitors...

Dealerships acting like it is still a privilege to be on their lot..

Just find it odd that is all...

Your local dealership doesn't equal GM as a company, but dumbass sales people/dealership owners aren't selling many cars so they're going to try and get as much money out of them as possible. Doesn't make sense, but half the world has an IQ below the other half! 😉

Dealers "buy" their stock from the manufacturer, and then attempt to sell it for a profit.

Technically dealers borrow from a bank to buy the cars from the manufacturer. They then hope to sell it before the flooring costs (interest paid back for the unsold car) add up over months. This is why most car ads say "Must take delivery from dealer stock". Dealers are tying to move cars that are costing them money sitting unsold.

An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If the dealer in question can get MSRP, then more power to them.

Some dealers are looking to keep volume up with decreased margins, others are looking to keep their margin but suffer smaller volume. The latter category are bad for customers and, honestly, bad for GM, because less vehicles are sold.
They only say no dickering to try and squeeze money out of suckers.
Anybody paying MSRP on a common vehicle these days (i.e. not a limited edition lamborghini) deserves to lose every penny the dealership can get out of them.

Quoting doesn't mean that's what people are paying...not if they have half a brain and even a bit of negotiation skills.

They need cash flow to operate. Even if it means making very little to nothing on a sale, they need cash coming in and having acres of cars just sitting on their lots is killing them believe me.

I'm amazed that YOU are buying a GM vehicle. For what vehicle(s) did you get quotes?

wow they're still trying to low ball you? guess they want to be like the 2 GM dealers around my neighborhood who got closed down. 1 Chrysler dealer also got closed, all in a 50 mile radius
