GTX960M issues

Hi All,

I have been experiencing unstable FPS performances in gaming. GTX960M isn't THAT bad for a laptop and I'm playing a game that was released almost 7 years ago. Sometimes, I get 20FPs while it randomly jumps back up to 40fps..

As for the temperature levels, it never goes beyond 75C. I also have a laptop cooler with a very cool room temperature (roughly 21C).

I also tried setting the performance to "prefer maximum performance"

Any suggestions? I'm running out of ideas and Google isn't helping much.

Have you used a hardware monitoring utility to see if the card is throttling? While 75°C is not abnormally high for a GPU, there was an issue with Alienware laptops throttling at 74°C (I was affected). This may be the case for you as well. A few other things I'd check are background processes and to disable any overlays if applicable (GeForce Experience and Windows 10 Game Overlay).

Can you tell me what the process names are for those GeForce Experience and Windows 10 Game Overlays?

Also, I don't think it's throttling. My FPS starts at 22FPS average, then it goes up, then back down (repeat). I got nothing else running in the background.
