Put it down in the $3xx range where it belonged at release?![]()
I´d settle for a 7870 for around $250. But yeah, entire HD 7XXX series would need to come down like $100 to compete.

Why do people say stuff like this?
When the GTX 285 had an MSRP of what, $350 and the GTX 480 had an MSRP of $500.
How can they even say something that retarded and call them self unbias?
WTB $450 GTX 670!
I am still confused.
Because that is what exactly happened. AMD prices did go up by 50 percent from performance to enthusiast priced segments.
Assuming these charts are accurate, I'm wondering how much AMD will drop the prices on the 7000 series across the board, if at all. I would expect the 7970 to drop to $500 and even then it might not sell well against the 680. Maybe some rebates to bring it around $480.
If GTX680 starts at $499 than the price of the 7970 will be back at 5870/6970 level. I think it was $379? Because nVidia will bring a second GK104 card which will be placed between 7950 and 7970 and will cost less than $400. I don't think that AMD will lower their price two times in 1-2 months.
Hats off to nVidia if this comes in at $499.
NVM, we've been down this road before. Clearly unbias people only point fingers in one direction. I'd rather not set off any red flags.
Go Premiums! Both sides are doing it now, it's a safe statement to make.
280 was $650 at release, 480 to 580 was $500, I'm not seeing the dots you're connecting.

It doesn't matter what you said because you've omitted so many other reference points your dots are scattered and have no logical connection points.
Take OP with a grain of salt, especially this graph: http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=8-e-330782-3ngjoe.png
Cross check those numbers with legit reviews of the 7970 and 580 (compare 7970 vs 580, is it really 17%?). I don't think there is any way that GTX 680 can be that much more efficient.
Than isn't that where the 680 also belongs than?
What I don't get is, by following some of the vitriol that AMD was getting by certain posters, and how it was overpriced, and the performance increase didn't justify it (considering the 580 was still ~450-500 ish, and the 7970 was ~20% faster), shouldn't the 680 also be getting that flack?
SOB why doesn't the bigger image load for me? The text is garbled and I can't make it out.
EDIT: Finally:

It's pretty easy to deduce why nV aren't getting the same flak lol.
Assuming the leaks are true, I myself think $500 is a good price for this card, and the 7970 will need to be reduced.
