gtx580 vs gtx480 cuda performance?

hi all, my google fu isn't so good, so i need some help.

what are the main factors affecting 580 vs 480 cuda performance? i read the 580 had 300M transistors lopped off, changes in compute 2.1 vs 2.0, etc.

i will be using for PDE calcs (heat and mass transfer in biological systems)
