Uh, guys? How did this turn into a "bicker about poor value of high-end cards" thread? Anyway, I checked the pricing between 270X and non-X, and it's just ridiculous - non-X is 1/3 cheaper! Unfortunately they go very fast and it's really hard to find one in stock. I'm now going to go through as many reviews as I can to see whether the sharp rise in price for 270X is justified.
 
Save yourself the time if the 270 is 1/3 cheaper than 270X. The only difference between them is the GPU clock speed.

The Asus version of the 270 is clocked at 975mhz which is even closer to the R9 270X. Performance should be very similar.

If you can find HD7870 for less than R9 270, it is also a good value.

My bad. The Gigabyte 270 has 2x6pin, and that was the one I looked at. I guess it's a feature for more overclocking.
