No reviews yet, and not strictly speaking "hot"..but it's certainly a deal if you want to be the first kid on the block to own the most powerful card ever 😉

OP, explain how simply owning it is a deal. If it's not hot, don't post it.

Totally agree. This forum is for posting hot deals. If you wanna announce a product's launch or availability then the appropriate forum would be the video forum, IMO.

But GTX 295 is dual GPU vs. GTX 280 which is single. Two GTX 295 (4 GPUs) should out perform three GTX 280 (3 GPUs). Using 100w less is good though.

But 295 is still single card, just like the 280 is, so it's much more convenient.

You both have good points. Yes, logical that 4>3, but one of the GTX 295 GPUs is not quite equivalent to a GTX 280 GPU because it is clocked lower and has less memory bandwidth.

I do see this as a cheaper way to get SLI. Think about it! Two GTX 260 at around $500 plus $150 for an SLI motherboard versus one GTX 295 at $500 plus $100 for a cheaper P45 chipset board. Plus, the P45 board will probably overclock easier. 😛

People that have money?

$500 is a good chunk of money for what is essentially a big boy/girl's toy; but don't forget 6 short months ago many people were willing to shell out $600-650 for a GTX280. If I'm not mistaken, even 8800GTX sold for $500 when first released. Don't some people pay $1k for CPU's too? Considering the amount of firepower packed in a GTX295, $500 is not unreasonable (two GTX260 216's cost more than $500, have fewer shader units, and consume more power).

One mans trash is another mans treasure - OP 'splained himself and gave us a reasonable caviot. If you don't like it then press the ignore button and move on... geeze.
