GTX295 now available on Newegg

slickdeals referral link removed

No reviews yet, and not strictly speaking "hot"..but it's certainly a deal if you want to be the first kid on the block to own the most powerful card ever 😉

Stop with the slickdeals referral links
For the eight others that quoted his referral link. I removed them all.

They jumped the gun by a day. ProVantage is also selling them.

I'm under NDA until tomorrow, otherwise I'd post my initial performance impressions versus older cards. 😉

The link is OK now. As of 8:54 PST, they were showing 4 different manufacturers cards in stock from 509.99-499.99+shipping.

Provantage is show a BFG card as a "Special Order" meaning they don't actually have them or the aren't going to say that they have them.

Good point. It's already past midnight in Eastern Time. 😀

Basically two GTX 295 outperforms three GTX 280 by a bit and uses maybe 100W less. Doesn't seem to get any hotter either.

Ok...sexy azz card...So who's buying one ASAP? If it were $399, I'd probably pull the trigger as soon as the official drivers were tested...But as of now, I'll wait & see what happens to the prices...

OP, explain how simply owning it is a deal. If it's not hot, don't post it.

can you find a cheaper price?

If something just came out and people are waiting to get it that's hot for cutting edge first adoptors.

The reviews I have seen so far from credible sources (toms, guru3d) show numbers that pretty clearly beat the 4870x2 2 gig in just about everything tested. Still, you can get the 4870x2 for under $400 AR. I would maybe wait for the price of the 295 to go down a little.

So with that logic, should we start posting deals for any products that aren't on sale with the reasoning that it's a deal because you won't find it cheaper?

They aren't a deal if you can find them anywhere. This one can be a deal because you can't find this card for sale yet. There were wii posts here for finding wii's and those were at regular price. Quit thread crapping prick

No trolling, flaming or personally attacking members.

This is hardly threadcrapping. And I didn't think the Wii posts were proper either. Your language isn't appreciated. Edit your post.

But GTX 295 is dual GPU vs. GTX 280 which is single. Two GTX 295 (4 GPUs) should out perform three GTX 280 (3 GPUs). Using 100w less is good though.

In any case, we see more results when more reviews are released.

But 295 is still single card, just like the 280 is, so it's much more convenient. You get 4x gpus with a pair of 295 cards on a dual-sli motherboard, vs. needing 3x 280 cards and a tri-sli motherboad just to get 3 gpus.

Plenty of people.

It's all relative dude, $500 to someone may be like going out to lunch for another.

Ha, it's definitely not like going out to lunch for me, but I can't say I absolutely wouldn't buy one. I paid $600 for a VooDoo 2 SLI setup many years ago, but now typically scoff at paying that much for a GPU upgrade when a less expensive card (or pair of cards) will run current games just fine. However, I'm considering getting another 260 for SLI and that would end up being roughly the same amount as the 295 while likely generating more heat. So the 295 actually doesn't look that bad, but I probably won't let myself pull the trigger until I can get one for $300-$400.

Also, gamers running 2560x1600 in the latest games with AA enabled need cards like this to get the same frame rates as people running at 1920x1200 (or 1080) with less expensive GPU setups.

I'm sure there's stuff that you do that most of us would never dream of ... like using foul language on a public board for example
