GTX280 speeds

is there a specific reason these default speeds are sort of odd ball numbers?

EVGA GTX280 FTW edition runs here at:

670 core
1215 memory
1458 shader

I'll be running my GTX280 on water cooling so I was thinking of running it at

700 core
1300 memory
1500 shader

each speed is independent right?

They're just the clock speeds EVGA felt comfortable validating and covering under warranty for multiple parts. There is a chance you can get higher, but its not guaranteed even with water cooling. And yes all clock speeds are independent if you use something like EVGA Precision or RivaTuner and run clock/shader unlinked.
