Would this be a significant upgrade for my rig? I checked hwcompare and it said the cards are almost equal in everything but the pixel rate, which was 133% higher on the 1070. Would this make a tangible increase in games at 1080p resolution?

I'm planning to play newer MMOs on my rig. I got 50-60 fps in Black Desert in towns on medium/slightly high settings with my current card, just to give an idea of my performance. I'm hoping to play games at the highest settings.

Other specs:

i5 4670k Haswell, 3,4ghz
8 gigs ram
7200rpm HDD

Max OC vs Max OC GTX1070 will be 70% faster.
GTX780 have only 3GB Vram and that is low in 2016 and 2017.But i dont recommending buying GTX1070.Its not good x70card.Buy GTX1080 instead or wait for Vega from AMD.
Also you should oc your CPU to 4.5Ghz.

It will be between 75% to 150%+ faster when you don't hit a VRAM limitation.

With a VRAM wall, it will be infinitely faster. Which is half the time today.

I would buy it without thinking twice if I were you.

GTX780 at 1300Mhz is pretty much close to GTX980 stock performance.GTX1070 will not be that much faster(not 2x)

Having gone from an overclocked 780 to a 1080, I can say it can perform anywhere between 2 and 2.5 times as fast as the 780, depending on the application.

The 1070 isn't that far behind. It's usually has similar performance to a 980TI. Unless you are planning to run 4k or QHD Ultrawide, the 1070 will be a great upgrade.
